  1. Thanks for posting those pics Robert, very interesting indeed!

It does sound that the shiny satin could had been chosen to be used for the outside to match the shiny armour.

To make belts and things sometimes you can stitch around the edge and then turn the object inside out and then press the item.

This would then have no rough edges and no seams / stitching showing, maybe this is what was intended?

Maybe they were riveted together before they were turned inside out by mistake or became too narrow?

Or just grabbed all the material they had to try and ake them thicker?

    Just a thought...

    ;)

  2. Excellent - I was waiting for Lego to bring Stormtroopers back - they are expensive at the moment as they are not in any sets other than a single sandy in Lukes Landspeeder.

Just noticed lego weathering detail and printed legs - very nice.

I need to expand my garrison :)

Infact I would very happy to just get these for Christmas (Thanksgiving)

  3. Hi,

Sounds cool, would be great to see some pics of the mandolorian armour.

You can see some really good pics on this site in the Centurion requests section - I'll start a build thread shortly too.

Really helpful people on here and on the UK Garrison sites.

I sold some fett armour to go toward the TK armour, I realised building a fett costume would take ages to get right :) and having the helmet signed helped put a stop to it :

  4. Hey Matt,

It reminds me of being a classic Mini fan / owner over many years (Austin / Rover / British leyland etc).

All the different People: some get a great deal of enjoyment getting every single nut and bolt and label as correct and if not better than the day it was in the showroom back in the 60's. I thought these people were mad but now see the beauty and appreciate the time and skill that goes into it. Some people love their mini whatever model or condition it's in, some customise and race it.

But everyone had the initial love for the Mini and everyone who had the most expensive cars £50k upwards through to the just roadworthy £200 could share the same goal of having fun and owning a mini.

Sounds just like here, people with different interests, yes there is a standard as people could turn up with a suit made out of cardboard. Acuracy is more important to some more than others but surely everyone shares the same goal to have fun and put a smile on people's faces and also help generate money for different worthy causes which is fantastic!

I'm hoping to join the UK garrison and everyone has been really helpful and I'm sure they are similar and share the same end goal ethos and dreams as you in your local garrison, some strive for ccostume perfection which is another rewarding aspect of costuming.

So grab some armour and have some fun ;)

  5. Hi everyone,

I joined this forum as I have seen some fantastic content here, I'm working towards joining the UK Garrison with a fine TK suit.

I bought an FX suit as I'm a biggish dude and sold the lid and have a AA/SDS ANH TK Hero 2.5mm High Impact Styrene.

Before I add in the interior electrics etc thought I'd better check if anyone has trooped in one of these and had any problems?

This is the Hero 2.5mm High Impact Styrene and not the Battle Spec or Stunt.

Beautiful looking but thought I'd check.

    Thanks very much!
