  1. See you guys in the morning! Cant wait to assemble this armor for Katie. I was there for the book signing event ( ahem, playing the part of Rebel Scum X-wing Pilot that night  ) and met Katie and her Mom. What an awesome little girl and family.

Here's a link to the story behind Katie's choice for a Stromtrooper http://www.chicagonow.com/portrait-of-an-adoption/2012/10/halloween-and-the-adopted-child-a-costume-is-more-than-it-appears/ :duim:

  2. Welcome, Ashley.

I'm 5'8". It's possibly an inch or two less than the absolute perfect height for armour but there were plenty of actors the same height as us in the first movie and I personally have had no problem making four different makes of armour fit just great. You'll have no problem whatever you choose. Any of the below (plus you can add ATA to the list) ...

    :shok:

    So... Mon= AP, Tues= TM 2mm, Wed= TM 1mm, Thurs=CfO, Fri= RS, Sat= TM 1.5mm...and then you rest on Sunday right, Rich? :laugh1:

    Welcome Ashley, mmmmm, cookies :D

  3. This was actually my 3rd troop (the first 2 were in my rebel attire  ) but this was the first time taking the shinney whitey out for a spin...and let me say...it was AMAZING!

We were asked to help draw in people for the Dustin Villarreal Memorial Fundraiser in St Charles, IL. We basically suited up and hit the street out in front of the theatre were the fundraiser was being held. Let me tell you...we drew crowds of all ages, and also stopped traffic quite a few times :smiley-sw013:

Myself and my TK brother Steve Gaza were treated like rockstars, we had people bypassing Lord Vader to stand between the stormtroopers :D

All in all an awesome feeling, and I cant wait to put the suit back on and give the fans what they want, more TKs :jc_doublethumbup:post-15263-0-58492700-1335921953.jpg

Thats me (TK-7345) on the left, and Gaza (TK-4034) on the right

  4. Hi, I am starting research for my husband's TK (ah, the things you do for love), and if my garrison can convince me to wear a helmet, I may also (eventually) build a joker squad TK variant.

    Just thought I'd introduce myself.

Your husband is a lucky man :smiley-sw013:

Welcome to FISD and I'm sure that once you spend all the time to research your husband's armor...you'll want your own set :dancing-trooper:

You'll find everything you need here, and dont hesitate with any questions, we're here to help.

  5. Indeed Snowtroopers are very awesome!! :snowtrooper: , ahh and a word of advice for those that order online : go two sizes smaller that your normal fit, I'm 9 and those were waaay to big, almost ridiculously big, I though they were mislabeled, but no , they're all like that ,at the end got the number 7's , and even if you go 2 sizes down they might still look big but the wool liner is really thick so it will make it nice and snug, they are really comfy actually, I think that I might even wear them to walk to work, the other day was -28 :shok:. So now I have to keep on looking for a good pair of Stormtrooper boots, any suggestion on were to find them?

Thanks for the info, Im definatly in the market for some of these, and nice to know the size differential.

And I will now stop crying about working outside in 0 degrees...if your walking to work in -28...you really need a set of TS armor, or catch a ride on an AT-AT :atatpilot: :peace:

  6. I've actually been using a few different glues on mine, E-6000, loctite epoxy for plastic, and CA zap a gap. I bonded my pistol grip with E-6000, and then after the 24 hour cure time, i used CA Zap-A-Gap (medium thickness) and basically filled the gap between the edges of pistol grip and the body. I also did this method for the stock as well. I have yet to have had a problem with mine.

  7. Hey all,

just a quick question, may have been posted some where, but after going thru a ton of E-11 builds, i'm still at a loss. When attaching the scope rail to your resin E-11, how does one secure the front of the rail?

I've seen that everyone uses a screw to attach the back of the rail thru the rear sight, but how do you attach the front? I see that a hole is made in the spot of blaster where rail goes, and rail has a notched end, bent at a 90 degree, and inserted in the hole. But is just presure against the front rail holding it in place, or is it glued, or is it something else?

Thanks for insight, and sorry if this has been detailed somewhere else.

  8. Welcome Hafiz,

Happy to have you here, however, if your looking for info on scouts, I would go here first, http://www.bikerscout.net/

That is the Biker Scout detachment's website, and i'm sure they will have everything you need.

I'd suggest joining your local garrison as well. There maybe some members close by who can help. You being from chicago, http://www.midwestgarrison.com/index.php would be your local garrison.

Check these 2 out and i'm sure you'll find all the info your need.

  9. Welcome Josh

Im in the process of assembling my TK. There's a wealth of knowledge here in the posts and of the members, all you need to do is ask. Also, if yo havent already, i would join your local garrisons forums. You may have some helpful members living near you that can answer questions or help you out. I would be lost without the aid of a local garrison mmeber helping me. Heres a link to all the garrisons, find yours and send a shout out to get to know your local members.

  11. It all started right after the armor panel at CV. I had ben onstage representing my TB pathfinders and my longsuffering wife had been watching (and listening, apparently).

After the panel she made the remark that she thought the "original" stormtroopers were the most impressive. She then asked if they were expensive to build....

You guys know where this is going......big, brown boxes!

Anyhow, I am here lurking...and learning. My TI may have to wait...I think its time for TK 8286....
