  1. I was looking at RT and AP too, but at the moment I think AM might be the best option for me.
  2. Yeah, I'm planning on getting out to the sept troop at the library with a few friends. I won't be rushing into any purchases, I need to make sure my finances and other such things are stable before going into something this big. It would be good to meet up, so I can get better bearings. I'll PM you soon. Thanks for the advice, -Seb
  3. The main reasons I'm looking at AM as opposed to AP, RT-mod, etc is its apparently easy assembly and significantly cheaper price. I know this isn't a cheap hobby, but if I can get a decent kit (though not as detailed (AM)) for a good price, I have more money free to get all the little but equally important things, like the boots, voice amp, and of course the fans . I really like making things with my hands, so I'm going to have a go at making the holster, blaster, belt, and neck-seal myself. With all the amazing tutorials on here, it shouldn't be too hard. Thanks a ton for the suggestions, keep em coming, I need all the help I can get .
  4. Over the past week I've been reading the various stickies and build threads on this FANTASTIC forum. This reading has helped me understand the various armor types and their attributes. The one that caught my eye was the AM or Armor Master kit. From what I saw, though it does not have a helmet, the kit is easy to build and the plastic is ABS making it strong and glossy. I'm OK with it not having any ANH lineage, and as I've heard it is a fairly detailed sculpt. Another thing that makes this kit attractive for me is that is is for slightly larger troopers, I'm 6 feet and 185 LBS so this should accommodate me well. The best part of course is the price, so far I have only got a response from trooper supplies and they quoted me a very attractive price for their "lite" kit, which includes armor elastics and some hardware. I have heard that tupperwaretk is good also, but I have not yet got a response back from him yet. Now my questions: Is AM a good kit for a beginner like me? What is a good helmet to compliment this suit? If AM is not the best what would you recommend instead? What things is AM not good for? That other materials do I need to finish the armor kit other then tools, undersuit, gloves, neckseal, etc...? Any other advice?
