  1. So i've been slowly working on my Hips ATA ESB build. Here are some images that I have so far for a trial fitting. They aren't the greatest though. Front Another front with no arms Back and back with no arms Any comments/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I didn't take any down the side yet, the ab and kidney pieces but up against each other cleanly. The shoulder bells have a return edge on the bottom that I think I need to trim. There is no elastic on the bells yet. I have a slight return edge on the bicep and forearm pieces, but I understand I need to have NO return edge on the forearms at the wrists.
  2. Thanks for the reply FireBlade. The info is a big help. Well, I finally did it. I figured it would come sooner or later I was just leaning towards the later. The red stuff has leaked out, and I don't mean kool-aid. I've bled for my TK. Trimming some on the butt joins and a made a pretty good slice to my left pointer finger, right on the side by the knuckle. One of those times I shouldn't have second guessed myself with what I was doing. I thought, nahh it's just a small end tab no biggie, everything is out of the way. LOL.. well as I found out, it wasn't. Still having issues trying to post pics. Do I need to find a site to host the pics and then just link them? or can I just insert them into a post?
  3. Now that the requiredness of work is out of the way I can make some more progress on my build this weekend. I was able to take some photos and I have some questions. First question is how do I add pictures? Once I get the pics sorted I can ask questions about them. I am not sure on some of the trim lines and showing pics is really the only way to ask. Questions like did I trim too much on my kidney piece? How much needs to get trimmed on the bottoms of the shin/calf pieces? And I can't figure out the trim line on one of my bicep fronts. Stuff like that. But until then, I would like to ask about the belt and the battery pack. How much plastic should there be from the last "box" to the end of the belt and battery pack on each side? Any assistance you guys can be would be greatly appreciated.
  4. So ok trimming wasn't such an issue as I got use to it. Snapping worked really well in most cases. I must have gotten into a rhythmn as things started falling into place. All trimmed with the exception of the areas on the limbs where the cover pieces go. I figure I'll trim the fronts on both sides so they are essentially half the width of the cover pieces. I'll leave the backs until the fronts are glued and I check for sizing. Now sanding... that's the real bane at the moment. I did a couple of pieces by hand and I'm contemplating going to my dremel to make it go faster. I can then hand sand as needed. Just trying to smooth out the edges so I think the dremel will do fine. My camera is on the fritz at the moment so still no pics just yet. Hmmmm... need to find a good avatar.
  5. Thanks for you backing guys. It's official, I dislike trimming Large pieces are trimmed, working on the smaller stuff. Some of the pieces are a little hard to tell where the trim lines are supposed to be. Looking over reference photos again to get a better picture. Nothing really needed to post for pics just yet, I'll take some shots of the trimmed items to make sure I'm going in the right direction.
  6. Coming out of C5 full steam ahead I did lots of research. From reading posts here and talking with soon to be local garrison folks I decided to go with an ATA kit since this is my first build. Well the box finally arrived, other components have been slowly working their way in but now it's the big one. I'll keep you updated on my progression and I am sure I'll need plenty of advice as I get to work. Question one: How do I open this big brown thing? Just kidding the parts look great and it's a little daunting to look at all this stuff. The dining room table is gonna be useless for a while, all my tools are layed out and ready to get to work. ESB EIB I've got you in my sights. Here's my component parts list: ------ I'll post pics as I can. Check in with you later, wish me luck!
