Howdy,
Just kind of need some advice here before I start slowly sending requests on parts and pieces and getting quotes on the armor. Starting off I'm 5'8 and 240 pounds(arounding off)I am losing weight went back to my diet and likely be down to 220 or 215 after a few weeks (around 2 weeks when I stay true to the diet).
Armor
The suit I picked is the RT-mod it seems to be what I'm looking for, for my body type.
Undersuit neck and glove
Alot of helpful posts have pointed me to stormtrooperundersuit.com for these. Everything looks sound, just need to add the armor piece ontop of the gloves which shouldn't be too difficult with the help of guides that have been made around the forums.
Boots
Tk Boots has been getting alot of postive feedback, I think I could look around for something close localy but atm likely to grab these and for future projects have a idea of what to look for at the local stores.
Blaster
Alot are saying the Hasbro toy should be alright just need to change the color. This I currently have, been also looking at the blaster topic and keeping a eye on future blasters just incase.
Belt and Holster and the thermal pack/detonator.
These are abit lost on. I found some posts about members able to make some and saw some on ebay but not sure which way to be heading for these. The ones on ebay look good and have some positive feedback but I'm very careful on purchasing stuff on ebay (had some bad deals before) and not sure if there is someone that is recommended for these items. If not no problem will try to make the parts but always like to see if anyone makes them or has some they are willing to depart with.
So just wonder if this is a good start for trooping, money isn't too much of a concern for me but I would like to have the first set more purchased with abit of modifying here and there to give it a somewhat close to the movies look and following 501st armor requirements for trooping. Reason asking and not putting too much in for the first suit is for the main reason to be able to create more armors in the future but from scratch aka instead hunting too much online will try going local stores and just making them look as close as the movie and to the requirements and might find some good things to use to suggest to future members making new armors or starting their first but don't want to put too much money into it.
So basicly first suit is to help be apart of events and support but also a model for future projects....until I start a scout suit which won't me there much but gives an idea where to start.....maybe I will start sandtrooper next....seriously what have I gotten myself into....
