  1. hey all,

I just wanted to give a heads up that the above mentioned website is taking offers for a take over.

Mr. Aj Standish(owner) is retiring this november on his 70th BDay, so i figured i let everyone know before he stops selling anything. He makes/sells deactivated Sterlings for $449.00 as well as fully built E-11's but they cost way more.Link below

  2. Such a shame when this happens

I've had nothing but good dealings with Edward Cushman

It really is a shame as i too have had good dealings. The majority of complaints i've heard were that he takes too long to get the product out or email contact was iffy at best ,but never heard of him not sending anything at all??.I admit it took me a while to recieve the items i have, but i got them regardless.Maybe someone should try contacting him ???. If He's having issues with production or other, he should at least post an update on his website,(its got outdated info on the updates page).

  3. the only thing i noticed about the krylon fusion plastic paint is, that despite what it says on the can it does require a good sanding and primer to bond well to plastic, otherwise it comes off really easy just like any other spray paint..... i ended up stripping it all off and re painting the blaster with rustolium ;)

Did the resin parts get scrubbed with anything like hot water and dish soap or some other type of degreaser before painting??.I usually do this before painting to remove any excess mold release, that might still be in the smaller areas.I had the same issues with Krylon fusion ,but only when there was signs of mold release agents on the surface.

  4. yea it is a ruger kit i found it on gunbroker.com when looking for e11 parts ;) you got a link to that tutorial by chance?i cant seem to locate it

    Sure do mason, lol. http://tk861.com/indexframed2.html

look on the left side menu and go to "trooper gear", Then Click on "Weapons" and the tutorial is on the upper right Marked as "NEW" MG42/34 KIT

"Oh, and i feel yer pain ,with that injured thumb and all".I did similar damage when i was a teenager...and man it hurt

  5. Thanks for the links. I have a Hasbro that I want to pimp out. Don't dig the out of the box design. Wanna get it closer to the M38.

I started to mod a Hasbro, but i goofed up so bad that i switched to building a pvc type. However i used some of the small parts from the hasbro such as the front/rear sights and scope.I trimmed the scope from that speaker box then used a few pieces cut from a plastic for sale sign to make a new base and front face for it and a tube of bondo auto filler to build up the scopes body.I also used the rubber cup from one of the Nerf darts to make the small lens in the frontby cutting off the suction part using the base of it for the rim.Take a looky, lol

  6. Nice find! Personally, I would put a real scope on a pipe kit. I don't know if I would use it so much for trooping, the weight might be an issue?

The scope on the Hyperfirm might make it top heavy handling wise?

I agree, the weight of the scope would easily tear the hard foam rubber if jolted, dropped or kept at a steep angle. Pipe build would be better for it i think.

  7. Thanks Tony. I forgot about this one. It was one of the first I looked at before wanting to mod it with electronics so I had dismissed it as too light. But, I think it might be just what I want.

As far as i'm aware, the cushman is the easiest to deal with when wiring electronics into it.The one i have ,i have had for 3 years now without issues.Though of course i never had lights/sounds added.I have no clue on how to wire up a sound/lights setup as i've no experience in that.

  8. Will these work??. I have the version 2 Mg-34 myself and added the T-grips from Blas-tech.com .The T-grips on the cushman DLT-19 are molded on, but the details are kinda soft on most of these replica kits. Not the best, but very super light weight and pretty good for a trooping prop.

Come to think of it, i wonder if Hyperdyne used one of these??. The details are very soft on theirs as well from the looks of it.

  9. So, I am nearing completion of my armor and have assembled almost everything I need to put my backpack together. And, I have kind of hit a wall.

I have been researching MG-34s/DLT-19s on and off for several weeks, but can't find something that will suffice for what I want to do, which is basically a DLT-19 that I can mod with sound and lighted barrel like the one seen here

    .

Hyperdyne has not replied to any of my inquiries. Doopydoos doesn't deliver to america. Hyperfirm is solid. Niko's are solid. Blaster Builder's Club is solid wood.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  10. Well then admittance and acceptance is the first step to doing things better for myself and others,

Ok well i'm a fake blond and i have hair transplants!

    LOL

    .

  11. I have not seen anyone on this forum admit to buying and putting together one of these kits. MOT has been selling these kits on ebay for quite awhile now. I like how he pretty much admits its a recast, "cast from the well known T*E suit of armor"

"Is it real?" In the past folks were selling their Stormtrooper armor from the Star Wars Galaxy RPGMMO on ebay. THAT armor wasn't "real"

Well then admittance and acceptance is the first step to doing things better for myself and others, lol. so i shall start, " (prepping for virtual slaps upside my head)AHEM". "My name is tony and i am a recast assembler" (RABA)Recast armor builders anonymous: I got a spare helmet kit from a pal a while back and didnt know it was an MOT helm kit until "after" i built it. (grumble)

  12. Yup, that's MOT. What exactly do you mean by "is it real" though?

"Is it Real" as in well known and approved seller i do believe he means.lol. But i wont venture into that known discussion, lol.

  13. Nice, don't give up.

My Hasbro came out pretty nice and to make it 100% accurate i'll extend the barel when i have time.

    Pat

hey pat, thanks, lol. I tell ya,this project has me thinking alot. One thing i do know...i love bondo.I made the grip following the bbc tutorials. A piece of oak with 3 layers of plastic sheet(old for sale sign)per side w/bondo sanded smooth over the seams, same as the selector switch and finger guards on the right side of the tube.the inner spring is made with a wire coat hanger that i twisted around a broom handle. Lol, i never thought i'd find this project enjoyable.I may make more afterwards should i be able to aquire more materials.(i got a ton of time on my hands,so to speak, lol). Come to think of it,if anyone here has any constructive criticism, advice, etc.good or bad, please feel free to comment.I take advice with the best of 'em and am looking to do it right.
