If it's actually being sold by vacuum dis! then it should be legit. His stuff is fine (I have one of his helmets). My two cents.

Great choice! I love my AM set and you will not be disappointed. There are many great tutorials to guide you on your way.

I used Testors flat black and it looks great, but Humbrol Satin Black is the best from what I've heard.

Right on! This question was asked on the 501st facebook page. I said that it was canon, but couldn't remember where.

Han carries one when him and Luke and Chewie are in disguise.
There's another TK carrying one during the search inside the Falcon.
I KNEW it was legit! How could I have forgotten those scenes? Thanks bro! That's two I owe ya!

Just wondering if there were ANY canon examples of a TK with a DLT 19? I want to carry one as a shiny ol' TK but I am wondering if it would be frowned upon...
To answer the question before it's asked, I do not want to be a HWT, just a stormtrooper with a BFG!

PM'ed you, then noticed the link was a few posts up above yours, lol.
Nice! Don't I feel smart now...

I searched for "chatter" on the 501st forum and got three pages of stuff that doesn't look like the file in question. Could you hook a brother up and post a link to the right one on the site (seeing as you have to be 501st to see it it wouldn't break the rules). Thanks!

WOW. This got ugly...
Good find TM! Thanks for sharing.

Jeez, with all the resources we have now and how forthcoming people (especially Troopermaster) are with amazing products and references I would have hoped that we could overlook those few things that are still kept close to the chest. I am able to be happy for somebody when they find some rare thing, be it info or a pair of boots, and not mind if they hold onto that knowledge for themselves. It's nice to have a little mystery left, right?

You won't REALLY be done until you have your TK ID in hand and have done your first troop in it. Trust me, I found all sorts of things needing adjustment or redoing after my first troop. Something about the sweat, hours of moving around, and little kids/cougars grabbing your kit makes things kinda just...fall off. You'll get there! It's fun as hell!

Welcome! I like your avatar pic, very steampunk. We're here to answer any questions you have.

I had an issue with it not showing the images using the app but it sorted itself out and now I can't live without it!

Check this out bro, it's legit! There are links to various AM builds here that will help you on your way. Ask these guys (and myself) any questions you have about your AM kit we're happy to help out a new trooper!

As for the measuring, that's entirely up to your size and shape. For the parts that overlap, I like to size it to myself and use blue painter's tape to hold it in place for when I take it back off. Then you have a general idea of how much needs to be trimmed off. That method worked great on my thighs and calves! The pieces don't always line up perfectly either, so patience and sandpaper are valuable as well. Good luck!

those last pics help me out a bunch! Thanks!

Welcome! You're in good company in NorCal.

Yep, with my first FX kit I ended up upgrading the whole upper portion (chest, back, shoulder straps, and shoulder bells). I looks way better.
What armor did you go with for the replacement pieces? Did the whites match?
-
Yup, that was me. Made a world of difference, and I'd recommend the same to any AM wearer.
I recall you mentioning at some point you would look into getting a VT chest & back - any word on that? Of course there are other alternatives available, pretty much any ABS chest/back (or even a HIPS set if painted properly) would do the job.
I haven't committed to any specific replacement parts yet but I am considering it. I don't really like the shoulder bells either.

Couldn't help myself!
I have a Hi-Res version if anyone were interested in putting a sweet background behind me or somethin'.
-
I think that chest is way too big for you. In fact, I think it's way too big for most TKs out there, and it looks so off compared to the real deal... oh well!
Yeah, the chest and back are my biggest gripes with this set.

I put up larger versions of the pics for detail.
