I made a pocket for the inside of my chest using a black pencil case from a dollar store. Cut out the zipper, cut it in half, sew up the side and some velcro on the back to attach it to the chest. Slip in the Aker and thats it.

Same question as Dengar, what did you use as the base for these packs?
I am pretty sure it is an oil change pan, but wanted to know what kind.
It looks to be a Mercedes 16 quart oil change container.

Hi Terry congrats on the build mate you have done a fantastic job on the AM kit. I also have a AM lite kite which i purchased about 12 months ago when i fist joined the 501st. I have a crack very similiar to yours in the chest piece around the same position, i have trooped in this armour about 15 times and i always look after it and when its not in use i hang it in the wardrobe.
Is there a way that you know of that will stop the crack spreading further.

Added the forward sight. The ring is a coupling cut in half with a shaped piece of wood screwed to it then capped off with the cap from a Nasonex bottle glued in place.

Made and mounted the front scope. I used 3/4" copper pipe and fitting, mounted it using wall brackets for gas pipe. Nice and strong.

Thanks! What's left? The second scope, forward sight, cocking handle plus the main body details, then paint.

Thanks! I used plastic drip pans that you put under flower pots.They are just vac formed clear thin plastic, I just trimmed and glued them in place. The ones I used were 6".

Added the rear sight and test fitting before detailing up the magazine drums.
Getting started
Filled sanded and ready for paint.

Basic assembly of the magazine.
Styrene strip to be used to wrap over the parts.
Starting with the top. I used E6000 and let it dry overnight before gluing the next section.
And working my way around.
End pieces trimmed and glued it's ready for detailing up.

Just curious to find out what some of the troopers here find works best for them when painting up their favorite BFG or E11?

We did a troop in January for The Altimers Walk for memories and decided to take a walk down Toronto's Bay Street by ourselves and had no problem. I did with the cold though.

Thanks. Finished off making the slots, just need to clean them up with a file.
Next is to add the inner barrel and cap it off with a 1 inch washer for the end.

Template used to create the holes.I drilled out several holes each stencil to help cut down on the dremel time and mess.
Box I used to do all the grinding in to keep the mess as minimal as possible. I started to cut out the stencils and mark them with a pencil. It made it easier.

Here is my first BFG build from scratch. I am not really trying to make a totally accurate mg 15 but something that is pretty close,light,easy to transport and handle while trooping.
Basic parts cut and assembled and ready for detiling up. I added the foregrip from an air cannon toy to make it easier to handle while trooping, the trigger assembly is from an old Brass eagle paintball gun. Cheap to buy these days.
The scope lenses are from a pair of toy binoculars that I got from a dollar store.

Hi folks,
It's been a while but i'm back on my TK AM build! (work commitments)
Here's a new problem...
When I put on the chest piece, I am unable to move my head left or right.
My bucket catches on the raised part of the chest piece (Pecs)!
I think the curvature at the top of the chest is wrong.
Anyone else know about or have this problem?
If that makes any sense?
I have the MR helmet and the helmet catches the chest piece when I turn my head about 25 degrees either way. I just learned to rotate my shoulders to compensate when looking left or right.

I did that the other day and he is sending me out a replacement. Very good fellow to deal with and excellent customer service.

I use a large Rubbermaind container for transporting my armor so it cannot be crushed. There are 4 cracks in total along the same edge about with about a 1/4 inch spacing between them. If I were to stress it to the point of braking there would be only 1 crack. I have not done anything to the suit to cause this kind of damage.

A word of caution!
I haven't had a chance to troop yet in my new armor but have noticed micro cracks on the neckline of mine. I last wore my armor last Halloween and I am very careful with it so it is not from being abused. I saw the first one recently and upon very close inspection using a magnifying glass I found 3 very tiny cracks in the same area. You can see another just to the left of the big crack. These may have been created when the excess was trimmed or the plastic is too stressed in that area and was not hot enough to take the shape of the mold.
So take a very close look at this area and be careful, this is a quality issue and if you have the same little cracks it is only a matter of time before they open up. I do not imagine a chest piece lasting very long if the cracks continue to grow.
I have sent an email to the manufacturer of the AM armor regarding this and am waiting for a reply.

My thought exactly on the shoulder bells and adding a strap for the chest peice Terry. As I adjust over time I am thinking of trimming away the excess too from the chest. The flash is what probably helps to show my eyes since it is a very bright light source pointed directly at the helmet and eleminates the shadowing inside the lid.
A friend gave me the pauldron so I am thinking of going HWT. I like the detailing it adds.

One of my many test fits in my new AM kit, MR lid and with some accessories. I have done lots of adjusting so far and it feels and moves great now. It was a lot of work since I am around 5'6" tall. Many thanks to Panda for his AM build thread that made this sooo much easier. The holster I made and have a removeable elastic to keep it from flapping around when the blaster is in it. These are the first pics of me in the armor.

I am now thinking I am on the lookout for a hardshell, tupperware type case, with wheels in the shape of a Star Destroyer.
