IDW. Those look like those aren't screws and actually "buttons". The buttons for snaps. And if its a AM/FX kit then thats what they are. I had to use those too when I put together my first FX kit.
If the button ends are long enough to go through the ab detail plate AND the ab plate, I would use glue to hold them on the inside. HOt glue or E6000.
Those are threaded billet aluminum buttons that come with the AM kit... not snaps. I attached my AM plate with a little E 6000 glue around the edges and it's held just fine.

I just got myself AM also and have to agree, Tupperware TK is great service and great communications.
I was just wondering if it'll be an issues outdoors that you can see through the armor? I read that with former FX armor in outdoor it was possible to prime the armor inside to prevent unwanted exposure through the white parts. If this is still suggested for AM, it'd be much easier to do now before starting to build...
There's absolutely no way you can see through this new AM armor. It's nice and thick and very opaque.

So blue is wrong and red is right? I just thought the blue looked really nice.

Thanks guys! I'll probably start with the torso first. I already have a plan of attack:
- heating up ab / kidney and re-shaping to fit my waist
- trim sides to match with kidney
- reshape butt
- trim and shorten chest (it's a bit long for me), might cut the neck opening, and the rib cage edge, and do a return edge there. Risky, but I may attempt it. Might need to make it narrower too.
- install the 6 rivets, elastic sides, and "Han solo" rivet on the right
- create a custom harness for myself based off my current design
- integrate my thigh garters
- make a crotch snap / strap
- I have a new way of attaching the chest plate
- install voice amp / wireless mic
- make many, many snap plates...
Hey Terry, everything you listed here is what I did or had to do with my AM kit. I'm a thinner guy as well.
I'm still doing some more finishing tweaks on mine as well as wrapping up my Hasbro blaster mod. I hope to have some pics ready soon.

It can be done with the AM kit for sure, just alot of trimming involved. You'll have plenty of plastic left over for snap plates! lol
Good luck with your build... can't wait to see the results!

Great job on your build. The only thing I would suggest is to move the Ab section down just a little.
Ah, I see what you mean... I'll try to work on that.

Hey there everybody... I got my AM kit back in early January (probably one of the first few kits shipped out). I've been slowly working on it as my time is very limited.
I'm not finished (I still need to get a holster, need to mod my Hasbro E11, work on my belt, and some other tweaks and adjustments)... but here's a peek anyway.
Any suggestions would be helpful. I would like to eventually go EIB with it... if possible.

Got my TK Boots size 9 a week ago... "simply awesome".

Not identical...outside right and outside left have "strip" at the back that over laps the inside plate. I can take a pic tonight for reference......
Man, that would be great!!! Thank you.

I got my new AM armor kit in early January... the build is coming along well but I've run into an issue. How do you tell which shin is right and left? The instructions are kinda vague and seem reverse of what looks more natural to me. Any pics of a completed set would be a big help!

Did you not use the pre-cut lens that Kev supplied with the helmet kit? I liked how it was all one piece, cut with exact holes marked for the screws from the ear area to keep the lens material all in a wrap around like effect. The curve of the material holds it fairly snug against the eye holes, but there is a little gap for air movement. No glue needed!
No... I decided not to use the lense material supplied. I like this material much better. It's easier to see out of but still retains the correct "green" look. Got my air gaps too.

I recently built this ANH 2.5 bucket... it's a really great lid!!! Kevin is a super guy to deal with too.

Hi, I'm new here... I've done alot of research and am considering an armor purchase from "Dekard". Hopefully this will be a good place to start my build? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I intend to join the 501st North Texas Garrison. Any members here?
Thanks,
James
