Bigmikeyboys TD build

Recommended Posts

Right chaps,

first 2 bits of armour glued ( right arm bicep and forearm ) with left hand side currently glueing... i have started to trim other bits and have done a test fitting for the thighs. I think i have got them to fit ok around the thigh with sufficient gap, however they seam to be catching when i bend my knee. Only slightly rubbing, but i can see this being a problem. Any suggestions as to how i can fix this? Its not the width but length of the the thigh piece, which is strange as i am 6' tall.... guess ive got slightly shorter thighs! Lol

Ok, so here is a bit of an update so far...

Have managed to build all the arm armour and have just glued the rear cover strips on the thigh pieces. Shin fronts are done, just need to measure up the rears and then trim and attach the velcro.

Helmet is also underay with some of the painting done.0e0136c7ff6603d487711090af00ef18.jpgb7a289839a909c79f9f08576dd0a95a6.jpgd09205496743c00c6e866997cde55184.jpg677a4e79aa5be0929119e654778c3a5c.jpg6d121167485ee7de62cded655f97917a.jpg3efba1f081a5ae8ec96a1e060260c4c9.jpg

I also have a build thread running on the UKG forum and am seeking advise along the way.

A little problem i have encountered and need some advise on is the rear bottoms of my thighs. They rub on the tops of my calves as i bend my leg. I have seen some people cut the bottom of the armour out to help alleviate this. Is this an accepted way of resolving this problem or are there other solutions?
