Hello fellow troopers!

I'm kind of new here, so please don't chop my head off if I'm asking a stupid question or posting it in the wrong section.

I've encountered a problem fitting my FX helmet together. The the front and back have been put together with the dome and now I've come to the part where the ear pieces should be put into place.

I've spent HOURS and MORE HOURS trying to get them to fit properly, without any big gaps. But it is SO HARD to avoid getting these gaps. I'm wondering:

How do you do it? I've seen pictures here on the forums of beautiful helmets with NO, absolutely, NO gap considering the ear pieces. I was thinking heating them up and then, carefully, shape them by pressing them to the helmet so that they would get a nice shape. After that maybe put some white silicone or something to make it look even more "tight".

But if you have better ways to solve my problem, please share! I just want it finished, but I want it to look good aswell. There is no point troopin' lookin' like a douchebag (sshhh, I know I got an FX armor, but you get my point).

Hello Fellow Trooper,

I also purchased FX armour but immediately disposed of the lid and got a far better one....but a couple of things to think about...first, it really takes a bit of craftsmanship to fit the ears on any of these helmets it would seem, so don't feel alone on that one. Second, a bit of gap is normal. Take a look at the screen helmets and you'll see what I mean. You could fill the gap but with an ABS lid you would need to paint it to cover the fill material.

BTW, just as duty to protocol you should go to the Introductions forum and, well, introduce yourself. I see this is your first post so I am assuming you haven't done that yet.
