I see a lot of Trooper have gotten their boots, so is it possible to get some pics of them wearing their new footwear with armor? I'd like to see what they look like with shin armor over the tops of the boot.

. I'm thinking of doing the same thing, RT-MOD armor but with a TE2 helmet. I'm a "larger" Trooper as well. What do you think of the RT-MOD? -
I've tried to post over on the Spec Ops and I can't seem to get anywhere. Still validating or something it says. So I just hang around here and bug all the TKs.
How long have you been on the Spec Ops?
Yes the price was the determing factor on the PT set.. (a bit too much)
I know ATA armor is able to be pulled in black, howerver for now it's not the super shiny stuff like my FX ABS. PM if you want the info he gave me.......... (Super) nice guy. He's a (Trooper) for sure.
Bill im the same m8 been on that site for a while and says the same thing. i cant post or pm i have even tried emailing Kevin about it but nothing...I've been on Spec Ops since late August this year. At first my account said "still validating" for a couple of weeks, then it finally went through. I just think not many people use the board so things are slow...

I've seen a set on the bay made by PirateTrooper that looks cool! (it's not a FX) I was tempted to buy one of his helmet kits because it too looks way cool.
I changed my mind due to a earlier post I had put on here about that ........ (still looks cool though)
I just took a look at PirateTrooper's kit. It does look cool, but it's pricey and I've heard some things...
I'm a member on the Spec Ops board and they're very quiet on obtaining the black armor. After I put together a white set I'm totally going black.

That's an FX kit. At one time Deckard was offering FX TK kits pulled in black ABS. I've also heard of people painting their standard white FX kits.
The shadow stormtrooper is an Expanded Universe (EU) character, it falls under the 501st Legion's Spec Ops detachment.
I really love the look of the glossy black armor! Does anyone pull a suit in black nowadays or do you just have to paint?

I think with all the research I've done, AP is the only armor I don't know much about. Could I get a PM with contact info please?

If anyone orders a size 12, please post on how you like these boots. They told me the 12's are a bit narrow (and I have bad arches, so that may be a problem). And since I'm in California I have to pay sales tax...

Sorry to hear that Orin. Same thing happened to me, so I know what you're going through. But things will turn around! I'm hoping I can start my armor purchase/build sometime in January of next year. If I find a new job that is... "sigh". Until then, RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH! Lol!!!

I've done a lot of reading about the Trooper Caboots and I noticed some people saying the "correct" size you normally wear may be a little big. I wear a size 12 in all my footwear, so will I need to go a size smaller or can I get by with a 12. Any answers will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sometime in May, 1977. My parents took me to the drive-in. I was 6. It was a late show (it started @ 8PM). They fell asleep in the front seat while I was transfixed in the back for the entire movie!

Yeah, deciding on which armor is going to keep me busy for awhile. I already have contact for an FX set, an ATA set and I'm waiting to hear on the RT-MOD. But for all my searching I'm coming up short on finding who does TE2 & AP. Any leads would be very appreciated. I figure know all the choices and make the best decisions based on the facts.

I'm a new member who's been skulking around this board for the past 3 weeks just soaking up all this fascinating information about your wonderful hobby. I've known about the 501st for years, but never really thought about them until I saw some of their Troops at Comic-Con this year. The armor they wore was amazing, and the people looked like they were having a blast! I wanted to know more, so I Goggled the 501st, which led me to my local Garrison (SCG), which led me here. I really want to build a TK suit and maybe join up with the 501st and do some Trooping at next years Comic-Con (and hopefully some charity work down the line). Obviously I'm in no rush.
I'm a larger wannabe Trooper (5' 11" @ a solid 240#) and I'm interested in either FX or RT-MOD. But I've seen some of those TE2 lids from TK-4510 and was wondering if one of those would go well with either one of those kits. I'm kinda intimidated about trying to assemble my own helmet, on the count of my severe lack of mechanical skills...
I'm going to keep skulking around and gathering as much info as I can, and hopefully I'll hear from some SCG locals that can give a newbie Trooper a hand. ANY info that anyone could shoot my way would be greatly appreciated.
