  1. i dont know much about storm trooper armor like the rest of everyone here, however i do my research as much as i can. but damn that Disney helmet looks so bad they really need to scrap it and buy a better quality one. look at the traps (there solid black) the tube stripes (black not blue) i cant even put my finger on it but that whole helmet just does not look right.

  2. So i really am interested about making a commander Cody helmet, however i am a noobie and have no idea where to even begin..

Does anyone know of any step by step tutorials that are on the site that i must have missed, or possible somewhere else online?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

  3. To confuse and disorient people. "Look! There goes the black space robot!" "Where's Vader's light Saber and cloak gone?" "Scary space police from the moon are everywhere."

It's an Expanded universe costume. :)

(Srsly, I've heard all of those)

    lol to funny.

  4. $700 + shipping for the armor with bucket.

Well, I am upgrading my TX and TD's, so I am letting the FISD and other Legion members have the shot at getting my old TX. I don't want to put it on e-Bay and stand the chance of a non legion member getting hold of it... Just want it to be trooped with the legion since I put a ton of time and effort into it.

The armor is an FX kit with replacement legs, so the legs are thinner than the standard FX legs. I designed the thighs to look sleek and not “bell” at the end or look like a tree trunk. My thighs are about 22”, so if yours are much bigger than that you will have to insert shims.

I painted this with gloss black Krylon and then covered that with gloss Polyurethane. There are a couple of very small wear points that cannot be seen with the armor on.

im a noob at this whole black tropper thing.... is there black troopers in the movies>??///??

  5. I don't think reccommending ebay to a new recruit is a very good idea. We're hoping to gain another proud trooper, not someone who got ripped off by a recast or an overpriced kit. In fact, I reccommend every TK or wannabe TK stays clear of that site.

Thank you for looking out for me!

  6. I don't think there is any harm in buying a helmet, especially if you go with an MRCE. You could always modify it later.

Personally I have the problem where I get "hooked" on an idea, where I think something is cool and decide I really want it, but once I get it/have it I hardly use it. That's why there is a 1969 Volkswagon Beetle sitting in my drive way that I hardly drive anymore. I saw it for sale on the side of the road one day on the way to school and I said "I NEED THAT!", so I went and bought it. Probably the worst investment I have made so far in my life. I thought I really wanted it at the time but now its just sitting there.

Stormtrooper armor is really expensive if you only plan on using it once or twice. If its something you plan on trooping in and using frequently then I would consider it a "good" investment. If you want to wear it to school once or twice, or use it for a Halloween costume, only to get bored with it and have it sit in your closet then I would consider it a "bad" investment.

If you buy just a helmet then at least you are only in the hole a few hundred dollars or so. That's basically what I did. I bought my MRCE helmet when they first came out, wore it with a white tuxedo for halloween (TK-Suave :D), and now a year later I am modifying the helmet and investing in some armor.

So yes, long answer to your short question, I think its a good idea to get a helmet first, see if you really like it or you get bored with it, and go from there. :)

Best reply so far, and also im only 5-4 so i dont think that it would be a wise investment because im shure i still have alot if growing to do. Im only 17 (i should be like 5-9 for my age) o well

  7. Well im 17 im from california. My name is dakota im 5 foot 4. I was thinking about getting a stormtrooper helmet before i buy a whole suit. I was interested in getting a helmet kit so i can build it myself. Not shure if they sell them like that. And i was kinda interested in making it into a sandtrooper.

  8. Armando, that's a beautiful looking helmet! :D

What type of paint did you use? Did you use multiple coats?

Are the tube stripes hand painted? I noticed that one side of helmet has fewer stripes than the other - perhaps it's just my bad eyesight...

    T :salute:

yeah haha one side has 14 and one has 12. lol woops
