  1. Hi tie-pilot,

I was just in Sweden—my first time. Loved it!

I'm leaning towards TE2 as well. My only issues are:

    • Styrene vs ABS: From what I've read ABS is more durable
    • TE2 is more labor intensive: more trimming and painting (and that's not necessarily a bad thing, I'm looking for a project to sink my teeth into)

Cool that you visited sweden! :D

This is true, Im a little sad that its not so durable as the rest. But its worth it in the end, the labor gone in to making this armor is all the fun.

  2. Any tips on other (albeit EU) accessories to be holding on during troops? I don't wanna hop skip jump around 'naked'.

    MOVE!

Dont get me wrong, I truley cant wait to visit the Netherlands but man cant even show off a replica ...you literally cant be seen with a fake star wars toy on the street? Or its breaking the law. But you can always troope in other EU countries (given you abide the fake weapons laws)

I would think that the Nazi re-enacting is a little less public friendly then Star Wars.

This calls for the old Jedi Mind trick.

  3. Well, as we all have our sad moments, this is my own, I need the money to maintain my up keep (as I’m currently unemployed for the sake of not being overwhelmed with college) I’m relocating to Europe in January as well so it’s probably the best time to try and sell this thing.

It’s got most of things needed, including

-Rubies Krylon Fusion painted helmet, has some webing which I have sanded most down and repainted again. But you might want to do a bit more sanding based on your pickiness. The decals are taped over in the picture so I wouldn’t paint on them. Holes were made for the breathing hoses in the chin.

Tie pilot armor – It’s beautiful, I mean really. I’m used extreme Velcro to keep on the shoulder straps. And the Tie Chest Box.

Tie Pilot Chest Box – just need some decals to put on as buttons and the greeblies. It’s been Extrem Velcored on so it isn’t going ANYWHERE. It’s tough enough to stay on while trooping but notTOO strong enough where you can’t take off so you can put it in a travel case for trooping.

Un Altered Jumpsuit – so you can have it alterd to your specs.

A silver plastic belt buckle (not shown)

    Gloves – gloves

TWO embroided Imperial side arm patches (not yet installed on the jumpsuit)

TWO breathing hoses, extremely durable and accurate. I love them.

I never got around finding the boots, sorry.

  4. Another great source for spare parts is fellow 501st member Ward Jones. I have purchased various parts as well as another complete set. I'm very happy with his product and prices, and he's great to deal with. He kept in touch via email and responds back right away. Good luck, here's his email to contact for stuff...

Thanks so much for that, I will email him right away and compare prices. And thanks for the reply to, these means a lot. I'll make updates, right now I'm still on the researching phase.

  5. Andre, the tk1536 site has a great break-down of the different stormtrooper armors, which I think was a reply to the question in your first post.

For the TIE armor, in addition to the different backplate keep in mind there is a raised flat area added to the chest behind the chestbox that is not there on a stormtrooper. There are several makers who do TIE specific parts, and you'll probably find them to be no more expensive than their stormtrooper equivalents and they'll already have the detail down, plus they will probably already be in black, saving you some painting.

Hmm, okay, that would surley save time on applying bondo to the chest and back piece, which was my intentional plan, but also it would save time on the primer and black gloss spraying. Who could provide me with those armor parts I need? You can PM me if you feel it's better. Yeah I discoverd that Tk1536 has amazing referencing to Tie pilot links. Really helplful.

    Thanks so much!

    -Andre

  6. Why would you do that when you can get the right pieces in the first place. Drop by the Jolly Rogers Squadren and you will be able to find the right stuff there.

Thanks, I''ve already tried looking thier this morning and thier was barley any forum activity and i think it's cheaper to buy stormtrooper armor (chest and back) and convert that than to buy Tie-pilot armor. My guess being because it's black and thiers less armor on a tie-pilot anyways. I'll check again though. Thanks for th reply :) :)

How kind of you to reply to my post. :)

But all I figured out is that me and Tk1536 had a lot in common, you know, like being in death metal bands and music and stuff as well as costuming. Is thier a significance to this site to do with my Tie-pilot help? sorry, I'm a bit slow.

    Thanks!!!

    -Andre.

  8. I usually post in the clonetroopers forums because I used to have that armor but now I'm working on a tie pilot outfit. Can anyone PM me where to get a TK chest and back plate? I was going to bondo it into Tie-pilot armor and then paint it glossy black. I'm just starting the project so any help is more than welcome.

    THANKS AGAIN!
