Welcome Alex,
There is a wealth of knowledge here and plenty of good people.
-
Well I'm Army so its usually ACU (Army Combat Uniform) and my 3 yr old boots that I'll never throw away no matter how messed up they are.
When I'm in Germany and not at work its usually a pair a kahki cargo pants, flip flops, a tie dye shirt and a zipper hoodie.
Or when the Bruins are playin, I wear my Savard Jersey and my Bruins hat!!!

Welcome to the FISD Dennis! I'm hopin to be back in Germany within the next month and troopin... hope to see ya out there!

Welcome to the FISD!
As another Military guy who is deployed I know how ya feel. I've been in Afghanistan almost 7 months now. I have been workin on my Commander TK almost the whole time. I'm nearly done with it and its come along awesomely for being in the middle of nowhere with very little tools to help along the process so I'm sure if you got the time you can do it too!! Helps pass the time and get away from all the stresses that is being deployed (as well as get away from all the annoying people you have to deal with on a daily basis).
But good luck and happy huntin for that perfect set of armor!

oh man am I jealous! I'll def be on the waiting list for this... its BEYOND PERFECT!!

well since there a few guys from Germany here, was wondering if you could help me out. I'm trying to get in with the Squad near Bavaria, i've sent emails with no reply. just wondering if anyone has any connections?
-
Hey Patrick... I'm a US soldier stationed in Germany, Bavaria area. good to have ya here
-
Looks like I'm going to have to remove the stripe goin down my back on my armor, since the color is only present on the fork like design on the upper back.
-
interested in the snaps
-
I am LOVING the belt! that is just awesome! I really want to go canvas with my belt... the plastic is so annoying.
as for the legs... if i fix the area behind the knee so i can manage stairs my armor will fit awesomely since i modded the cod and butt so i can sit. I do like the cutting the top of the thigh idea but that might interfere with my color on my right side.
id love to go the route you did with the bucket setup... it looks like it is comfy... mine is a pain to get on and they way i got it set up the headset is connected to the inside of the bucket so it takes alot of finess to get it on right
-
have you read the CRL for the SC? Not sure if its a rule or not... maybe it doesnt matter but the brow seems a little high... more of a TD type of brow goin on there
-
actually tain another look at your bucket and it seems like i have a similar mic kit... you get yours from that trinktoys or whatever the name is?
-
If you don't mind my asking, what did you do with your thighs. I looked at thepictures in your previous posts and the thighs look great, nice and tappered in.
well i have very limited supplies here... i found some shoe goo recently and adhered the front of the thighs and cut a little piece of the lip off on the back of the thighs so it would be more flush you know? and then just put some white velcro on there... im really skinny so after i cut the thighs up they dont want to stay closed as much as id like and close up it doesnt look that pretty... i mean ive seen worse but id like it to look better. Id have a better WIP on my process but having my job doesnt give you that kinda time.
where did you get the snaps? I plan on implimenting snaps to the biceps, and bells as soon as i get back to germany.
also.. since im so thin I need to wrap my belt around me really tight and i have a decent amount of excess left over and i try to keep the torso front and back together (i used some velcro and elastic straps for a temp fix but wonder if adding snaps would be a good idea)
oh and i didnt mention im really jealous of your bucket and your mic set up... what kinda mic kit you use?
-
wow great work so far!
when I put my fx kit together i overlapped the arm and leg pieces. but then again im not too sure what most people usually do.
-
I'll have to check up on the differences between ROTJ and ANH armor. my new bucket is stunt ANH. I just hope I dont have to make alot of changes to my armor. Not so much in the market for EIB yet just workin on gettin that infamous number!
-
well I dont have my 501st number yet but my commander armor is ANH
-
well... I gots a mission that almost promises some action and then take the "off day" to work on my TK
-
thats a different take on the thighs... I havent heard of people goin that route...although im still pretty green to the whole thing. but it is a really really good idea.
-
My armor is FX and I had to cut the thighs down a ton and when I tried adhering them they just wouldnt stay...althought i lack proper equipment like clamps to keep them in check, i tried and failed. as of right now I'm using velcro and it looks horrible close up. I'm looking forward to you take on the thighs.
and I really like the suspender idea, only thing that gets my brain thinkin is that the metal clamps...would they show over the chest plate?
Otherwise its coming along awesomely!
-
I love my Commander armor. I have much work to do on it but its so close to being 501st quality. I love the plain white TKs but I figured everyones got one of those, go for a Commander there are only a handful of those guys around so far.
-
I gots an ROTJ E-11... would I need an ANH one to be legion legit?
Also is there a requirement to be weathered? or could you have a clean TK Commander?
and as for the lightsaber...is there a limit to what type you can have? as in the hilt mostly
The TFU TK Project in Afghan

ok so its been a long time since I posted anything here. Life has been pretty busy, what with comin back to germany and goin on leave to the states. I hooked up with some friends in the New England garrison and I was informed that my TK needed ALOT more work than I thought... not to mention that I have bad luck with getting recast helmets. So I fixed up my clone for a troop and it went awesomely. I got my number, for the clone...and hopefully my Vader will be approved soon as well. But the TK is goin to be a project that will continue here in germany as soon as it gets shipped here from the states.
