Drool...
Paul that is one enticing sneak peek.

I'm going to start the necessary procedures for wife approved requisitions. Awesome looking armor Paul.

Check out Art Andrew's DLT-19 page: Looksirdroids.com
GINO sells accurate hard plastic replica t-track. Saberfreak sells very close, found item, drawer slide t-track that has to be painted. Blastech sells self adhesive rubber track. I really hope someone does a run of the grip disc, I've been waiting years for someone with the original part to make copies - I believe the original part came from an old record player that was mined for lots of the greeblies seen in the films. A similar greeblie can be made. The metal box over the feed plate can be created reasonably easily.

I'd like 16" comfortable on mine, thanks!

AP Sandtrooper helmet.
So since this is the FISD I could clean off the weathering and make this helmet shiny white if you want! A little rubbing alcohol and elbow grease (and some paint for the vent lines) and it could be ready for Death Star Duty
Has speaker mic tips (that I made) wired and ready for use with an amp (I used a RomFX in this helmet.) The helmet has a momentary switch mounted under the right ear for use with a RomFX sound effect lead (included,) kids loved the blaster sound. $350 (stand included)

I'm going to see if I can find a more comfortable way to fit the shoulder bells. I tried the one strap technique. Not very fun. I already have straps connecting my ab and kidney plates. Should I just make them tighter then?
Maybe the shoulder straps need to be shorter and I told you you should close that gap - I have a 1" gap on the hinge side too but I have a beer gut to account for.

Just repaint it, I can do for you if you need. It's been a very fun build!

The response from people seeing mine has been so positive I'm sure there are a couple blokes near me that would love to get on another run.

What helmet do you have? I have an RT/Mod and I can just fit the 2 AA boxes comfortably. I might try 2 AAA boxes and see how that works for my next helmet (a TE2 that needs painting, too bad it's too cold here to do it )
AP helmet. I think the AA boxes will fit just want to find the right spot so I don't totally imbalance the helmet.
-
I can't take any credit - I'm just reposting for the member on MEPD.
My RomFx (2006) came with AA cases but I reverted to a 9v. If I could fit the AA in my helmet it would be better but it's a tight fit already.

The texture would still remain different even if the paint worked, might look odd. If it looks good let us know.
I would recommend getting a pair of black chemical gloves instead of gardening gloves with a textured rubber coating if your experiment doesn't work out.
-
I switched to rubber gloves a while ago and won't ever go back to anything else. Your hands will sweat a little, but the dexterity you have is great & they look perfect.
Agreed. I switched to rubber chemical gloves a while back and I won't go back, they look perfect and the sweating issue is over played I think. I just need the rubber? hand backs - anyone making those?

Our GML finally wants to upgrade his FX helmet to something more accurate, but still large enough for him to fit it on his big noggin in. I suggested ANH2.
Anyone have any pictures of an ANH2 and FX helmets next to eachother for size comparison?
Thanks in advance!
I'm staggered GT's GML was swayed by the FISD thread? I didn't even pull out my secret weapon of mentioning no other TD in VA has a FX now.
Glad you found it Tony.

Great looking costumes. Nice to see more VA troopers here. PM sent!

Beautiful job, that's a fantastic looking helmet.

I just ran out of the Seals Direct material I had been using for a couple years, I hear they have changed to a less desirable shape. I'd love to see pictures to know what's accurate and I would purchase a good quantity - 15 feet.
-
Where exactly would someone find an accurate screen for the mic tips, I liked the ones I'd picked up, but the mesh is too fine. I'd like to pick up some that have a larger sized mesh closer to the originals. Thanks in advance for any info.
I found cheap cooking strainers have a good large mesh.

I'd like one finished and one finished with speakers if possible.
Cheers,
Luke
