  1. Hello, Kevin here from Imperial Surplus. I just wanted to let you know Option B version (back plate cover) is available when asked for at time or ordering the kit.  I honestly have not had the option B requested in a long time (a few years) until just last week. I will continue to also provide some extra ABS with the armor kit to help with assembly needs. Any questions or want to order the Armor or Helmet kit please use the email on the Imperial Surplus website.

  2. Imperialboots custom made the kids TFA gloves for my boys and the boots. The boots were size 34 & 35. But he used TK style soles with FO uppers. My boys are kind of tall for there age. He used his 8 year old son's hands as reference. I gave him the measurements of my kids hands from wrist to middle finger tip and palm circumference.

  3. The (smooth looking) inner forearms part has what I call the "Connection Flange" That step is so you can glue the parts together and it will help create a seamless look. The forearm on the right with the (step ladder detail) will need to be cut just above the section that steps out. After the two halves are glues together you will need to add some bondo to smooth out the seams.

  4. I am so sorry this thread had to end up here. In a place that has become so non friendly to other members of the 501st, no mater what costume they are trying to assemble. Terry is a 501st member and he was just asking for help, experience and guidance. But just because you do not UNDERSTAND the costume should not give you right to tear down someone for something you know nothing about.

My FEM7 is NOT a Stormtrooper costume! I know there is no canon character like this in the Star Wars universe. That's why I was able to make it. I have devoted 10 years of my life sculpting canon characters and have made over 16 different ones for the 501st members and some for the Rebel Legion. I know all the nit picky details that need to go into making a costume so that it can be approved by the 501st. This FEM7 was something I wanted to do, to break away from all rules that tare down the fun and creativity. Simply, I got board as an artist, just coping someone else designs and making it look as close as I could to resemble a canon SW character. Making things function was fun as most of the characters I have made over the years where never a tangible armor. It all came from CGI or drawing or animation. So the FEM7 was just taking the things I have learned and love about Star Wars and making something fun for the ladies. Cosplay is huge!!! It goes way beyond the 501st. You need to think outside of the box and realize there is more to costumes than just the canon characters. Sometimes it's just about expressions, like a person who creates new fashion designed dresses for a run way show.  I am creating something new with a material I am familiar with. I am creating a new line of Cosplay armor that women can do what ever they want with it. Paint it any way they want. Add any add-on parts they want. Simply, they can just have fun with it and not worry about what others think.

  5. I order mine at the end of last year or first part of January, right around the time when they first closed down their site. (I can't remember exactly) but yes this is what the correct TFA under suit looks like.

Just a heads up the material is much thicker than what we are used to with normal underarmor. It feels more like cold weather under armor.

Mine is still the in the bag. I think it would be too hot to wear it here in sunny Southern California.

  6. Fantastic work, Kevin!

Great job on the kids suits. They look awesome. Well done :duim:

Did you make the helmets too?

    Thanks everyone!!!

No the helmets they wore are the full helmets i got from Target but I repainted the white to match the armor. I plan on making my own smaller ones to better fit them.

  7. Hey troopers I am very exited to show what I made for my little boys.

We debuted these on Halloween day at Stan Lee's Comikaze in LA. My boys trooped in this armor for 7 hours and this was there first time trooping in ABS plastic armor!

Here is a video I made of them entering the con...

We had a great time at this con... Lots of people stopped us to take pictures and the boys loved it. LOL

I want to make it clear this is not the tall toy cut up and reattached to my boys. I made vacuum-formable bucks with correct details. I assembled the armor from ABS pulls and painted them with the Rust-Olume x2 White Glossy spray paint.

  8. Let me put a stop to all this...

IT... IS.... ABS. I know, I ordered it from my same plastic supplier I have been using for over 10 years. And I am the one who vac-formed the kits. It is not the high gloss or sometimes refereed to as gel cap ABS as most classic TK's are used to seeing. I prefer this ABS for the detail and ease for paint ability. It is exactly the same stuff I have been using for my Clone Kits. Trust me I know what I'm talking about. Stop the nit picking, just assemble it correctly and after you paint it, you will be amazed at how good it looks.

Just a reminder... A.B.S. is Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

  9. Haha, well, this is FISD...

Shannon really enjoys wearing the bucket.  The big nerd takes the bucket on vacations... she loves that damn thing. I have to change the damn fan batteries enough!  She would prefer it stay on most of the time, for the same reason I like to wear mine - so we don't "ruin the magic".

But she is asked/encouraged (along with the three other Legacy ladies in our Garrison) to forego the helmets in order to reach out to more ladies and young girls.  As I'm sure you're all aware, the reception when these ladies are out is amazing, and little girls go nuts when they see the girls in armor.  "Ruining the magic" becomes better magic when any of them take off their helmet and the kids see it's really a girl in that bucket.  Alternatively, if I took off my bucket the kids would probably run and scream in terror.

Locally, both our GCO and GML are in agreement that the Legacy Armor is positively based on the comics, and the Joker Squad rarely wears their dang helmets, anyway.  In all reality, it's not that much different than how the Rebels conduct themselves in XPs and Jedi.

    Simply Awesome!!!!

  10. This is the boot that most of the women are buying to go with the Fem armor. They understand this boot does not have the decorative strip down the front of the toe. Most don't care and will add it on if they want to submit for 501st approvals.

    ------------

@ Crow the High heel boots you are offering is too high and too narrow of a heel for the GG Statue look. The flat EVA sole boots with the small heal looks fine for the Comic-book option.
