Knowing me, I probably will build up to it, even though I say I won't... but Princess Leia's line "Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?" will most likely apply.. lol... 5'5" and shrinking... lol

Hey, the Empire needs people of all shapes and sizes!

It's also important to never say never! If you were to ask me a year ago if you I would have completed a full set of Stormtrooper armor, I wouldn't believe ya! But yet, here I am now!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, he has mentioned weathering, but I'm not sure I'm at that level in painting yet. I have other projects that would require it, so I may practice on those before I try anything on this blaster. My biggest fear is messing it up, even though weathering is technically messing it up anyway... lol...

And thanks for the certification info. Even though I've been on this forum for about 6 months or so, I'm still learning. And even though I won't be getting the full armor, I'm still going to be here to keep myself updated. I really learned a LOT since I've been here, and it's been AMAZING!

I totally understand the fear of messing up weathering, because sometimes it can look a little off if there is TOO much weathering! But practicing on other projects like you said is great! You know what they say, practice makes perfect!

Also, there is so much to learn when it comes to props and costuming and you build up to it over time!

  3. I came across this and thought it might be beneficial for anyone who uses ELEGOO Branded Resin Printers since it's a popular brand of resin printer.

    ELEGOO Official Settings Recommendations

This guide tells you recommended settings to use based on which ELEGOO printer you are using and what type of resin you are using in the machine.

Probally not going to be entirely perfect, but could be beneficial to getting around the closer settings to get the perfect print.

They do also have an Unofficial Recommendation guide from users which is located on the page the official guide is on. But it doesn't seem as detailed.

  4. Bonus: Small little me with Stormtroopers at Star Wars Celebration V (Orlando FL) in 2010

I came across some pictures of me (I'm the child) when I attended Star Wars Celebration V!

It's funny how now I'm a stormtrooper. I hope that one day some child that I meet at a convention will be inspired to join us in the future!

...at lest when looking at thees pictures! How does it look in real life?

It looks very cool in real life!

I need to mess around with it more and make it not so bright. Had a busy weekend with Thanksgiving so haven't had the second :laugh1:

I'm going to reprint as well since I just learned about a settings to make it more transparent which might look cool!

  6. So I might need to trim off the base that came with the scan which should be easy enough

Most of the glare of the light is because of my screen protector on my phone camera, but it is pretty bright nonetheless so I will add something to lessen that

Excited!! I'm interested in getting my hands on one if you can handle the hassle of sending it over to Sweden (paying myself ofc) :laugh1: Otherwise I'll try to make it with the help of some friends with 3d printers over here!

For sure! We can definitely work something out!

The light pucks have arrived and I’ve messed around with them a little bit. They are REALLY bright, I’m going to try masking off some of the light so it isn’t as bright outwards and focuses more on the statue.

    Pictures in the next comment

These are quite cheap and make a good base.

I did see a 3D outer shell "Star Wars" inspired, which goes over these stands in my travels, I'll have to see if I can track it down again

Oh yeah! I work at the makerspace at my college and we had a guy laser cutting clear acrylic pieces which go into these. They look very nice and not a bad idea for a hologram.

I actually ended up going with these puck lights on amazon. They are battery powered which is good for holding in my hand which will hopefully look nice in fun pictures and such.

I'll post a picture once they come in and I mess around with it a bit!

WAY cool, Eric!  I honestly would not even paint it.  Being translucent, if you could find (or make) a lighted stand to put it on top of it would make one heck of a display piece!

Yep! That's the idea! Need to find a good light though. Someone I was talking to before who did something similar in the past got a puck light on Amazon.
