I'm posting this simple step by step journey in the hopes one day I'll get this out together. Hopefully there will be more Armor parties in my area soon. Here's my trim with Dremel and sanding so far. I believe this is the right or left fore arm?
Does this look right?

I have Walts ANH Stunt, I have been trying to get hooked up with a local garrison for some time now. I just need someone to guide me through some of these initial first steps.

Hello, I have tried many times to start my armor build to no avail. I had a set of defective armor I started. Now I want to start again on the new armor. I have since moved to Texas. I really want to find a local garrison armor party or someone near San Antonio to help me with my build. I am on the trimming phase. I don't even know where to make the first cut. The last time I screwed it up.

Thanks guys!!

Bells are next, I hope I left enough return

Ok thighs are mostly trimmed just need to do sanding and final edges. I tried leaving a 5mm return on every edge. And now I have no idea how they are supposed to fit together, that's for later. How am I looking?

Sweet, well I don't have a belt sander but I do have a Dremel for sanding. I also have sanding files.I use score and snap, Dremel, belt sander and various things for sanding.

Awesome thanks for that! Do you all use Dremel tools or sanding blocks? Or both? This is my bicep from my current build it is also a WTF. I may even trim it more.

Awesome will do, thank you!Always a good idea when building to check the gallery sections, some great references there in regards to return edges, many had been seen with little

I am building from a WTF kit. But this really helps a lot. I just don't think I left enough return. We will see. I will check out the build thread recommendation. Thanks!

Yeah I saw that, I'm not even to the glueing phase yet and that's what scares me the most. Haha I'm a wuss. Anyway, thanks for the advice, it's slow going but I plan to have this done by next celebration!

Yes I am. I am trying to document every part of my build (build is going slow) but I am making progress. I hope to make it to centurion. I'm following you as well and am looking forward to see both of us go through this adventure ha ha.
I am freaking out, I don't think I am doing any of this right. I feel like I have already ruined my body pieces haha. Yikes, its' all a learning process.

Holy smokes thank you sir! I've been following your build thread as well. Are you going for Stunt or Centurion?Locitus, a member I happened to find on the forum has a post showing an original ANH TK. Lots of pictures of various pieces including measurements! Here is the link to your post. Looks like you already have lots of pros giving you help

What does 5mm even look like, like how would you measure that? I actually forgot to get a ruler so I'm gonna go buy that today. Any recommendations?Yes and no it sort of becomes a personal thing for people. Using the bracket system you need a bare minimum of 5mm preferably 8mm to make sure you have room for your screws. The less you leave more likely it is you'll have to use snaps and nylon or elastic strapping.

Holy smokes this all Latin to me. I don't even know where to start. Now I'm worried I've ruined my chest, butt, kidney, back and cod plates. I don't have any return on them at all.

So rule of thumb is always leave about 2-3mm of return on everything just in case? Like I can always trim it down to fit later right?

Perfect this helps a bunch. So then for the bells and thighs would these marks make sense or should I leave a bit for adjusting?

I've penciled in what I've seen in reference photos, I'm not sure if this is right or not.

Like this? With your thighs I would strongly advise you to remove all the return edge your thighs and "bits" will thank you for it when you start walking around in it.

Oh sweet that's awesome I think I bought a bracket system. Also how the hell do I trim this belt piece? HahaNo worries Josh. That is why we are here to help you along and get you in the best looking set of armor possible. Snap plates are essentially a piece of abs with a snap put into it and then placed on your, lets say lower back, you then make another that aligns on the upper kidney plate. You then use elastic or nylon strap and place the other half of the snap in it. Then you connect the two pieces. I used the bracket system, but the idea is the same.

Finally the last piece of this set. I think I cut this one a bit more aggressively and I fear I may have done too much.
