  1. Got one ear sorted which I’m happy with ( the right )

The left is proving more tricky.

Can someone else give me some points on how to get rid of the gap I have an arrow pointed to in the green please.

Below is the ‘good’ ear. I may take it off and trim a little more.

    Especially around the circular part.

  2. Thanks for the words of encouragement guys.

It’s surprising how nerve wracking it can be. I’ve learned to walk away if things get too intense haha and come back another day.

If it makes sense the reason the gap seems to large on the front is the join of the two lid pieces seems to stick out somewhat ( hopefully I’ve described it correctly- pic below )

I wondered whether this would stop the ear sitting closer?

I understand there may be some gaps but I’am quite a perfectionist. I’m aiming for centurion from the offset so happy to take a little more time over pieces.

Again thanks for the patience. I’m sure I’m asking questions everyone has asked before so most of you will be repeating yourselves....it’s appreciated a lot though I can tell you.

  3. Hi dan thanks for the pic.

Have lined up the screw holes with the trap as indicated in the pic you attached.

Can I just check with you guys. I’ve stencilled roughly around the ears so I know the position. It has to be in.

Can I just check where I need to trim the ears to get it flush. On the front side the gap is huge because of how the two pieces of the lid came together. Worried this won’t pull together when I get around to screwing.

Appreciate any indication ( if someone could draw on my pics ) just so I have an idea of what area I need to work on.

Thanks again guys. Really appreciate the help

The back isn’t looking too bad up the top

The gap in the above and below pic concerns me somewhat. But I’am a novice so I don’t know if this is normal? Following people’s own builds I haven’t come across this before?

  4. Hey all can I have some guidance please,
About to rivet the bottom part of the face pieces together.

I’ve roughly cut out my ears but realise how much easier it will be and much more accurate of the two pieces are joined together.

When trying to figure out where to rivet so I don’t get in the way of the bottom ear screw, whilst lining the ear up I seem to have encountered a problem.

It seems the ear will be at too much an angle to what it should be. 4c9e6778bc598f58bfb92d489d5ed9d4.jpg

If I put it more straight there is a gap on the back part of the lid as you can see in the below pic

Can anyone tell me if I’m doing something simple wrong please. Or have I buggered it up?

If anyone can roughly show where I should put the rivet on the bottom please I’d appreciate it.

  5. Hi all, after a massive break due to many personal reasons ( yes bad sh*t ) does come in 3’s.

I’m back and ready to crack on with my armour.

Hoping to get my helmet finished today and a start on the biceps at least.

So pleased to see RS have uploaded videos on ‘how to build their armour’

  6. Right I became Impatient waiting for the dremel battery to fully charge so had a little go with it ( first time using a dremel )

Surprisingly easy once got over the ‘oh god going to cut the lid in half’

You can see by the below pic I was very cautious....almost like bambi on ice!!
    9de1e8c4c0e5877339d7697b9e08a3aa.jpg

Plucked up the courage and after referencing back to other people’s lids I changed heads and had another go

After Stephens advice and getting a little diamond filing kit the teeth are coming on a treat.

And here I came to the end of today’s work (that and I am just getting over the flu so hot/cold sweats are still happening) .

With regards to the eyes how much more can I take it back? I’m terrified of ‘slipping’ and nicking into the lid.

Oh and I decided to start on the lid...why? As once complete it will act as motivation and will sit proudly on my workbench whilst I build the armour.
Now I am a perfectionist so may go a lot slower than the normal person but I aim for centurion from the off

  7. Hey all, December was a crazy month for me and I’ve only just got around to finally starting on my project. Still been researching when I can though.

    Unpacked the lid today

I did notice this rough cut on the top piece and was wondering if this will cause issues? Or will it be covered by the brow?

Typical I go to cut out the eyes and my dremel’s battery is flat.

I’ve marked out the eyes with pencil, just wondering on your thoughts? I know I’ve probably left a lot but I’d rather sand them down then take a chunk out straight away.

I plan to try and document my build as in depth as possible. As a newbie having to research countless threads and seeing the pictures etc it’s a daunting aspect. I may make mistake along the way but I’d rather ask twice and cut once.

Gwithian ( Stephen ) has been a massive help and going through his thread really helped as well as other people. So appreciate all those I have spoken with.

  8. Jacks RS Prop Masters ANH WIP

Well after weeks of researching, talking and checking build threads BBB day finally came.!!!! Yes Christmas has come early.

Received my kit from RS props today. Can’t believe it’s finally here. Ever since I was a wee lad I dreamed of one day owning my own Stormtrooper suit and it looks like I’m one step closer to achieving this.

Just a quick thanks to everyone I’ve spoken to on this forum.

  9. Its sad to read so many comments about how poor their customer service is.

As a result of the delay times and just the lack of communications they lost out on me being a customer. I wonder how many more people have been put off and take their hard earned cash elsewhere.

In this day and age I'm surprised they can still get away with it. Would be very interesting to hear from someone from behind the scenes at Anovos. I predict its utter chaos with no one having a scooby doo whats going on.
