Ha! Thanks everyone for the welcome and the kind words.
Believe it or not, that armor took me hours to do. I actually used 6 inch pvc pipes for the shoulders! After 2 years it's "rusting" away in my office at work. I don't have the heart to throw it away after spending so much time on it. It was a great intro to prop making though.

Just want to say hi and how great this forum is. Great sense of community here.
2 years ago, I did a spoof video for work. I needed a stormtrooper costume. Since it was only for work, I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars. Being a DIY guy, I figured I'd make it. (I just needed the top front half for screen shots). That's where I ran into this forum. Needless to say the end product was horrible, but enough to get us by for our dinky video for work. But ever since then I've wanted to get a real armor.
Still haven't bought the kit yet, but I'm the type of person who needs to read everything before I pull the trigger. Anyway, even though I just signed up, I feel like I've been part of the community.
Here's a link to the video so you can see what a terrible job I did. But it was enough to get me hooked. (Helmets were bought).

This forum is awesome. Thank you all for the great info and references!
Cheesewhoopy, you set me up for a biceps joke. I had to resist being new to this forum, too early.

Thanks for your expertise. This is useful. Is it normal to glue the strip on the inside? I've never seen that before.
Excuse my ignorance, but how is this cut to size?

Try this link.
I figure if its truly mtk and I can get it at a fair price, then I don't have wait.

Hi. New to the community. I wanted to make my first build but I'm budget limited. Also it would be nice not to have to wait months. I came upon this listing. The seller claims that this is made by MTK. Can anyone confirm? Also, what's a reasonable price for this kit without helmet? Lastly, it looks like it's been trimmed but not sanded. Some joints have been glued without strips? Should I run the other way? Did they mess up the kit? Thanks in advance!
