Small update ended up cutting the last tab on the back strap problem is it’s now too short for the elastic to slide over the back plate unless I move it to the very last tab. I still have yet to do a test fitting so it may actually be better once it is actually on me. Luckily the black strap on the underside is holding the front and back plates together so hopefully this won’t be too much of an issue.

  2. I appreciate the feedback luckily I’m already basic approved and have been trooping in this kit for a few months now just been addressing some major issues I’ve had and I didn’t realize about the large tab on the back of the shoulder strap. Also I’m a little worried about the back just being held in place by a piece of elastic do you usually carry extra elastic in case it snaps? Also for the forearm armor I had to trim a lot of the return edge to get it to properly fit (since I have skinny forearms) so we had to work with what was left when it came to gluing the cover strips.

Also added black elastic to the forearm armor so it will be a lot easier to put on and stay in place. Before I had to stuff mine with padding to keep
    It in place!

Also decided to take off the Velcro that was holding the front straps and glue it with e6000, I was told to not glue the back straps and leave it free floating so I have a piece of white elastic holding the back strap in place.

  5. Also did some major upgrades to the chest piece I was told I should fill the gaps on the underside of the shoulder strap to make it more stable so with the help of my girlfriend, we went through the tedious process of cutting strips of abs to fill in each gap. 2b0a2a65292fd81abbe3cbc5652d62c4.jpg

  6. Hey guys I’m back with some updates on my strapping! After wearing my kit and countless troops I decided it was finally time for some
much needed upgrades. With the help of my local GML, we were able to make some major improvements to my setup. It’s still mostly Velcro, but we reinforced a lot of it with e6000, and he sewed some parts for me as well. Overall I am very pleased with where it is at now. I will likely continue to upgrade more in the future and include more snaps but for the time being, this is so much better from what it was before where it was mostly help together with tape. I’ll include some pictures here!

  7. Personally I think that is a little expensive, you would still need to make fit for you, purchasing and making your own would be a lot cheaper in the long run

Gotcha I will do more research then I appreciate it

  8. There are several good examples of how I do my strapping in the below thread - hope it helps!

Was just looking through your thread any chance you plan on selling your strapping kit again would make my life easier if they are already assembled and ready to go for gluing on the armor.

Here is the suit with some minor adjustments for a recent event I am the TK on the far left in both photos you can see how the shoulder armor drops ever so slightly on my right side.

  10. Note I could not really see well out of the helmet in those photos so that was why I was standing awkwardly I have since adjusted the padding to where I can actually see a lot better

  11. Hello all! My name is Cormac I am a member of Star Garrison TKID 11198 and I would like to get some reference photos for how you guys have the strapping for the ANH TK builds. I recently bought a TK from a fellow garrison member and let’s just say the strapping needs a lot of work. I’ve worn it a few times and it works but not great. I’ve been having to make small repairs here and there every time I wear the costume. I think it needs some work I’ll try to attach some photos below. Main thing I need to fix is the right shoulder and the thigh armor. Everything else fits me great but it does need a overhaul when it comes to the inside. I already submitted approval pics at least for basic approval so hoping to at least get this kit approved before I start doing some major changes to the strapping.
