  1. As suggested on your other thread head to RPF (Replica Prop Forum) lots of helpful info there.

Also have a look at some of these in regards to working with foam

Thanks, will definitely head over to RPF for foam work. Any ideas for a budget friendly Helmet, and where to get a chest piece?

  2. Hello everyone! I'm new here, now I do plan on doing a full Stormtrooper and getting into the 501st, but I have a different idea in mind first. Before we get into that though, need to put it out there that I am a big guy, and this effects some things I'm looking for. I am 5'11" and around 260lbs, with a bit of a gut. Now, onto my idea. I want to put together a Stormtrooper Samurai. I've been a martial artist for more than half of my life, and would love to see my two passions put together in a single cosplay. I'm going to college, and work part time, so I am definitely more of a budget cosplayer, as I cant be excessive with my spending.

This is what I'm basing my cosplay off of, the Bandai Movie Realization Storm Trooper, but with my own take on certain things. I plan on making the armor plating out of quarter inch foam, but no clue which foam to use, as it will be my first time working in foam. I came here as you all have the knowledge of TK armor and helmets. I'm looking for a upper chest piece, front and back that will fit my larger chest, as well as a decent helmet all for a fairly low budget.

I'm also looking for some info on working with foam, just general knowledge, adhesives, cutting tools, etc. If you don't have the know how, but know somewhere or someone who does, could you point me in that direction?

Another concern I have is the upturned, ornamental bits on the helmet. They are something I'd like to have on the helmet, but I have no Idea how to go about doing that, since I don't have access to vacuforming, or other ways of molding plastics.

Well, I hope you guys/girls don't hang me for not doing a traditional stormtrooper, but this seems like a very fun project to work on, and I'm definitely stuck on somethings of this project.
