  1. Heya :)

My really awesome Phasma helmet (by Jim of the RPF) arrived yesterday. Still waiting for the armor which ended up at the customs office (I hope that there won't be any problems)...
As there are so many pros and really awesome costumers here, I wanted to share my progress with you. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to armor. Until now I worked with all kinds of fabrics, metal, leather and only created a Mando armor out of hard plastic once. So I guess I will have MANY questions and also I will fail at some points. I will document the progress (and post photos of sweat and tears) here. Looking forward to it! :D

    Cheers,

    Sabrina

  2. Haha, I knew it. :D

I don't understand, why they think that. I mean, should I be mad, if someone ask me what I am (Stormtrooper). Or if they think, I'm a Clone? XD

And why someone shouldn't recognize that? This costume clearly punch you in the face, that it is a AC style Mando. You can't overlook the characteristics of an Assassin. ;)

    Yeah *shrugs*

Somebody once told me that I'll "never be able to join the Mercs with such a videogame inspired armor" and sounded really negative while doing so. It seems that some people don't like it and prefer their "own" designs. Not sure :D but well, I also don't give a damn about it because my Mando was kind of a quick, experimental project where I tried to figure out how to work with hard plastic, hahaha.

Regarding Phasma I WILL consider every detail to make it as authentic as possible though...

  3. Hi Sabrina and welcome to the FISD.

The photo of your current costume looks like an armor I have just seen last weekend at the RPC in Cologne.

Was that you? Have you been there? If yes, we already met - without even knowing

Best regards from the close neighborhood...

    Yea, that was me :D

Oh man! I hope we will meet again some time! Were you at the Con with the 501st, too?

  4. Welcome to the FISD, Sabrina!

Your custom mando looks pretty good. :jc_doublethumbup: It is a mix of Star Wars and Assassins Creed, or am I wrong?

Good luck with your Phasma. Maybe, we can someday troop together for the first order. I'm currently at 60% finished on my FO TK. Keep us updatet. ;)

    Cheers from Germany!

    YES, it is! :D hahaha

Some people admitted that they didn't want to ask me if it's AC inspired or not - because they didn't want to insult me or something. But I'm always happy when peeps recognize it :)

And yea, let's troop together some time! I'll keep you guys up to date and start a thread with my work in progress!

  5. Hey, greetings from Germany! :)

I'm Sabrina, 27 years old, a videogame developer, and I'm living in Düsseldorf. Until now I only own a selfmade Mandalorian Bountyhunter (uploaded a picture, I hope it works...) but I'm up to build Captain Phasma this year. I hope to have it finished and assembled at the end of the year or in spring. The armor parts are made by Jim of the RPF.

I have good friends at the 501st and enjoyed to be a guest trooper and a helping hand at their events for some times now. It's overwhelming how nice and inspiring they are! And also it's always great to meet fellow costume enthusiasts and Star Wars fans :D
Before starting to work for Ubisoft, I was a Freelance Costume Designer - but mainly for LARPers, Reenacters or Cosplayers. Creating Star Wars gear is still  a whole new world for me although I finished my Mando some time ago. And, to be honest, I'm a bit scared of my Captain Phasma project right now, hahaha. Still have to figure out how to chrome it properly...

    Cheers!
