1. Hi guys... TK 41576 here...

I have a question maybe you guys can help me with... maybe I need to join the TD forums..I dont know.. but I thought I'd try here first..

Watching the new edits from 2011 I can see that the Sandtroopers that were added have normal TK Abdomen with the square that has the ridges and buttons.

Now if I was going to try to do this exact sandy... how would I do that seeing the CRL for sand troopers says... Right side Abdomen Armor is a blank square and does not contain buttons like the Stormtrooper. It looks to me that they have the normal TK knee too..

  2. Can any of our Canadian friend confirm the legitimacy of this?

<img src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4183/34729411125_0d9596b9b6_z.jpg"alt="34729411125_0d9596b9b6_z.jpg">Yes...

Yes Im the one who built that armor... it is approved... all you have to do is check the TK number in the database.

I'm getting so sick of all you guys ripping on David.. its sad. Leave the man alone. Is he hurting you? Slandering his name all over without cause makes you look bad.

When is enough enough? Why do you guys think he has to prove anything to you? is he asking for you to support him?... why would he have to prove anything. Why would he show you his molds?

What does he gain? Who are you guys when it comes to copyright infringement and what gives you the right to even ask to see molds?

Just go be plastic space men and have fun.

It was never meant to be about hating on armor makers boys. Whatever armor you got enjoy.. don't go around discouraging guys with lower budgets so they feel inferior to you and your 3000$ armor.

This armor is 100% good for basic with zero mods.. Just so you guys know... My name is Mike O'Howe, and that picture is 100% legit. So just go make someone smile with your armor and dont make people feel bad about theirs.

WE ARE ALL JUST PLASTIC SPACE MEN!

  3. Hi guys,,,

Ive built this armor now a few times, My experience with the armor is pretty good seeing that Ive had 6 kits shipped to my house in the last year. The first box of 2 was for my sick friend to get him approved to the 501st and he is now officially TK76101 of the Canadian garrison. The kit was so good infarct that I got another one for myself and 3 other people who looked at, touched and felt that armor, They looked at my SDS armor, looked at the TKUK kit, did research and all decided that Davids kits are the best bang for your buck if you want to be a stormtrooper.

Is it flawless? No, but is any armor? My experience with David and his company has been nothing but excellent. His customer service is the best of any company Ive ever dealt with in my entire life. He is always available...he is always on top of his shipments, and will bend over backwards for his customers. Seriously what else can you possible ask of of a company, Decent product that's accurate at a good cost that has amazing customer service... Its a no brainer to me.

If anyone has any questions regarding this armor... Id be happy to help. I do not work for David or TKUK in any way. Im just a customer.. I am a member of the facebook group for TKUK, where lots of happy members are building and helping each other build without the drama or armor bashing that sometimes goes on in in some forums.

I am again happy to speak with any of you who are on the fence about buying this armor or interested in taking to someone who has purchased 6 of these kits and can speak first hand about the quality.

Cheers guys... and just remember......... we are all just plastic space men.

  4. ... we question armour origins and accuracy all the time. Nobody is attacking your friend or his decision to buy this set. Or yours for buying two sets to give to a sick friend. Thats awesome.

Second judging by the pics we've see while the vendors comms may rock his quality assurance needs to look up quality assurance.

If they are 300.00 a pop he did his research when anovos offered tier 1 pricing on 650 dollar kits with finished helmets. yes kits sell at that price. but only if they are expensive kits at 50% off.

Would you have paid 600 for one?

I expect some gmls to deny basic approval. I expect some gmls to allow it. I expect the quality will have to improve before any make eib or centurion.

Thats just my opinion. Im entitled to have one. So are you.

and yes. Im an armour snob. ATA FTW. No chocolate Jawas. But its all good if it looks good.

    I

I never meant to call you an elite snob... I said you're acting like one mate... I never meant it to be a middle finger and tell you off... but I'm a passionate person and I speak my mind...

I think its an ok kit for the price.

David is not a friend of mine, Ive never met him but I feel the need to defend that its much better then costume quality. I agree that there are question marks surrounding his armor but my opinion still stands as it's good budget armor.

I'm sorry if I offended you and publicly apologize for my comments but seeing as you said you are an armor snob and from Ottawa ( prob a Sens fan ) lol I dont feel so bad anymore... cheers mate... :)

  5. Thanks guys... I appreciate the feedback on this topic as I know its an older thread.

I am going to be the fool here and test the waters when everyone is calling shark, lol as Brian said someone has to be the first.

I got a buddy to take the risk with me, We both understand the situation and decided its a crap shoot, shot in the dark but we will know 100% and put this to bed.

I have mixed feelings but I'm optimistic and in this situation I'm willing to try it out and give David the benefit of the doubt.

Ive spent 500$ on worse stuff. I can always turn it into a Zombie trooper if its a hack job or toss it over Niagara Falls in the spring if its proven to be shhyte.

Trooper over the falls in a barrel... that should get some youtube views eh! lol

Ill keep everyone posted on this,I'll do a full un boxing video and a full review of the armor and process.

  6. I can't remember the exact details, this post is from October, but this reply was more or less verbatim on several threads.

I seem to remember there was some discussion on one of those posts but I may well be wrong.

I was at the con mentioned in his post but I was busy trooping for the UKG and by the time I was done everything was over for the day so I don't get a chance to look in detail.

Facts I can give you are as follows: the original armour won't clear. The new armour? I've no idea as I've not seen it. If he's at MCM again in spring I'll try find time to go look properly.

But ultimately most critism has been acknowledged by the seller. You're right we should have probably called him out on some more of the issues, like the virtual office address on the website and why are all the images on the site from Asia?

However we have a number of known good sellers people will be happy to recommend to you. They have proven track records and sell products known to be accurate enough to clear.

I'm not going to tell you who to give you're money to. I will however only recommend people I feel deserve it and as of yet I don't feel I can personally recommend this kit until I've seen it and probably held it.

Thank you Chris............... a real reply..

I can understand totally on recommending kits of sellers you dont know...

The virtual office is a big question mark.. pictures from asia too... I can see that but the guy was here.

You all had the chance to put him down once and for all..

In my opinion he came here, took stones to do that and, people trying to rip people off most times avoid that kind of contact.

I posted a question about this armor on another topic and got zero real info.

I'm trying to build a kit for a terminally ill buddy and this seller has a 2 for one deal.

Im not looking for the best quality, Im looking for basic approval accurate and as cheap as possible.

The guy will never get to troop hes sick. He will get approved and hopefully brighten his life with armor on a mannequin and the satisfaction of being a 501st stormtrooper.

I was seeking new information not recycled old info or information I can find myself you know.

I know who the real sellers are and they are all over 600$ Canadian per kit to start. This guy has two for one 442.50 canadian each it works out.

I guess the only real way to know is to buy it and see for myself and write a full review after so we have some real facts.

If I get ripped off, then we will know...but I think this guys just trying and all of us are being Richards and armor snobs.

Why would he come in here to defend himself.... why not just stay clear of us knowledgeable people and keep ripping off the uneducated.

He obviously wants the legion approval.. or at least cares enough to try.

    I dont know..

  7. I'm all for calling guys out on bullshucks..... BUT ..............Why.... when the guy is here to defend or answer your claims against him did everyone shut up?

He is clearly not trying to hide behind the internet and rip people off, he just explained himself.. and he's here to answer questions.

People talk so much smack but when a guy says hey man. I made mistakes but I'm trying, still working on my armor. I'm here to explain or defend myself and set the record straight..

Everyone shuts up and has nothing to say?

Zero questions, Zero constructive comments, ZERO!! yet you were bashing the guys work. He has the STONES to come in here and say ...I'm right here and further he invited you to come check out his armor in person to decide for yourself.

I dont know this guy from Adam, Never met him, dont own his armor. I'm a new member, only approved in Nov but I'm sorry but you guys are being Armor snobs.

I'm looking into his armor for a sick friend and I found this topic.. It has ZERO helpful information.

I did find another topic that had someone who owned the old armor. No one with real first hand info, just hearsay, he said she said. ZERO FACTS!

Why is his kit bad?.. whats wrong with it exactly?..What are the details you can point out that make it non approval... help me and others in this forum to see how other then being of a cheaper quality,

how it wont do for guys who cant afford the vetted sellers.

I LOVE BEING A STORMTROOPER, I LOVE BEING A 501ST MEMBER BUT WE CANT BE BULLIES AND SNOBS,

GIVE THE GUY HIS TIME TO DEFEND YOUR ACCUSATIONS!

GIVE HIM THE CREDIT FOR STEPPING UP AND COMING IN HERE SAYING HERE I AM BOYS N GIRLS ... FIRE AWAY.

  8. Hi guys...

Im looking into a kit for a buddy of mine who is terminally ill, I want it to be approved for basic level here in Canada.

I was going to go with the Anovos kit but i found this site and from my limited knowledge it looks like it might get approved.

Its buy one get one free and comes with rubber, lenses and canvass belt.

    www.tkarmour.com

Keep in mind this is for someone who is ill, who might not troop but wants approval.

might end up being on a mannequin 99% of the time.

any insight would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

  9. Mike do you have any pictures of your Helmet up close. As Kalani, suggested nothing really stands out and looks good. Cover strip and butt method is required for higher levels on your limb armour just keep in mind. The helmet is what I want to see if ANH-S is what you seek, and it may be the lighting and angle but it almost looks like an ESB paint job. Also you need one rank stripe per side on your ear bumps for L3. Also be wary of the kidney and backplate gap there should be little to no gap back there.

I can take closer pictures today, I do need to add the stripe, The mouth could be painted better too. The back plate gap is a concern too... Ill address that today and get it down to minimal gap.

  10. Hey Mike. You did a good job with this set of armor. While I don't see anything that should not allow you to gain basic approval it is obviously up to your GML. However, there are a couple of things that stand out to me. One is your forearms appear to be rotated back too much. When you hold your arms at the side you should see the coverstrip and not the inside of the forearm. It could just be the photos but I just wanted to point that out. The second thing for me is your thigh ammo pack. It should be connected in the upper corner of the ammo pack on both sides. I would suggest taking a look at some other build threads and maybe trimming it a little more if you can. Obviously don't do it if you can't reasonably get it off because I still don't think it should affect your approval. Good luck!

I noticed the ammo pack on the knee is not attached right when I took the pictures.. I'm going to get that fixed cause it bugs me a lot.

  11. Hey guys....

Im currently working on an SDS (Battle Spect) that I got for my 40th birthday.

( I know the deal with SDS.. no need to beat a dead horse)

Anyway...Im only going for basic approval for the moment, I might go farther later but for now just basic is fine with me.

Ive fitted it the best I can and Im now seeking advice.

So any tips you guys can give on making it look better on my skinny body that would be awesome.

What will I need to do (if anything) for basic approval?

    Thanks in advance

    Mike

  12. Hey Mike (Dark Helmet). Welcome to FISD! You gave us a nice introduction. Like everyone has stated you will need to make some modifications. But you seem up to the challenge. Take a look at all of the SDS EIB threads and they should help. Have fun with your build and good luck. And remember evil will always triumph because good is dumb!

Ive been looking for threads but Im having trouble finding them.... any chance you can link me to SDS threads as searches come up empty and the amount of information on this site is over whelming.

  13. Hi guys.

My name is Mike, I'm from Niagara Falls Canada.

I produce house and techno music for a whack of labels across this amazing planet.

I like fishing & boating or just being around water.

I like watching MMA, The Leafs, The Blue Jays.

I love my wife and I love my life.

I do not like green eggs and ham.

I recently got armor for my 40th birthday from my wife and family.

Shepparton Design Studios Battle Spec armor and helmet combo.

I wish I had done more research on the armor before I asked for it but it is what it is and I'm ready to take the plunge and try to join the ranks of the dark side..501st.

I like the idea of helping sick kids smile and forget real life for a while.. I think that is just the coolest thing ever and I want to help do that too...

I still need to get a bunch of thing like boots, neck seal, blaster.. but...

I'm over whelmed by the information and looking for some help with my build.

I'm a pretty handy guy so I'm up to the challenge if someone can start me off in the right direction with my particular armor.

    Thanks in advance

    Mike
