Yea i was a little frustrated. I would rather not start over. I just need to logically put together my game plan. My biggest issue is the shins.
Thanks

Suit V2
Alright so here we go. everything is looking good except for 2 things. 1. its just to damn small!!! you will see in the pics. Any and all advise is much appreciated.
2. its to &*(*&(&(^&(^(&*^(&*()(_)(%*^%*&(^ small!!!! ahhh getting frustrated. about ready to give to my brother and get a new one that is 2xl. also here are some pics of the arms cut out the and the helmet and some body stuff

Also, to widen your calf could you perhaps widen the cover strips to spread the armour pieces apart further (bearing in mind to keep proportions consistent, your GML could chime in here). Inner strips might add strength to this too.

I did not even think about that. it means i have to strip it off but by now i am used to that with these leg pieces.

Ok sorry its been awhile. It has been crazy with work with it being tradeshow season. So here is an update so far on the suit. First off I have had to go back and fix alot of stuff. With the new strapping the system the back of the suit sits well as does the front. So I got that all worked out now on to my two biggest issues.
A. unless i wear a girdle (which i havent tried yet but am seriously thinking about it) my sides will not touch. 6ft 230lbs i am a big boy. I really am weary of adding shims becuase i will have to go back fill in the holes paint them etc etc.
B. My shins are a mess. actually just the left one is. so i have got the bra hooks and straps and will be applying them tomorrow. My biggest issue is I made a mistake on the outer line and put it on the inside instead of the outside so while delicately taking them off I have taken out some of the material. So I am now filling them in sanding now and painting. Honestly it will all be covered. So pray for me that I can get the left shin the right size and fitting correctly.
So whats left to do? Well I need to extend the grin on the helmet. I need to redo the whole interior of the helmet mainly for comfort (the freaking lense sits on my nose). I think that is everything i can think of right now. Hopefully tomorrow I can have some full suit pics for you guys. but for now here are some progress pics of the new strap system and the latex gloves.
Do the sides really have to touch???????
1. Re did the strapping system on the inside. added the white straps for the shoulders. got rid of all velcro and did snaps for the sides. Fixed the bottom connection had it on the outside instead of the inside.
dont have a picture for it but have painted the buttons int he front and the sides.
2. I got the latex gloves and have applied them
3. Have added snap to the bells

Manufacturing process, materials, design.
Whether Anovos was granted a licence to sell an exact replica of the movie armor or a version of it, not sure if anyone here knows that answer.
Those of us who own the Anovos armor are bound by a NDA we signed agreeing not disclose detailed information regarding the armor except with others that are also under the same NDA agreement.
So the next question UK is how does someone (totally meaning me) get to sign an NDA and get the TFA armor?
-
The movie armor is much different the what Anovos has been licensed to sell. There maybe a couple people here on the FISD with knowledge of who made the movie armor but I'm not sure if they'll disclose that information.
Whats the difference? And if Anovos is licensed to sell it why wouldn't they copy it? And those of you who have this knowledge please chime in I would love to know more.
(p.s. UK just wanted to say thank you for your threads. Been using your Anovos TK build thread everyday as I am working on mine)

ANOVOS has a license to sell TFA and other star wars stuff, and they are planning to market TFA armor in the future, but if you're asking who made it for the movie then it was Disney and probably Lucas Film. Most 501 members with TFA armor got it from ANOVOS to test it out, I'm unaware of anyone selling their own TFA armor but i haven't done the research
You think disney did it inhouse? Or hired a company to make it? And if so would they release that information?
-
Quick question.
What studio/designer/organization/shop
was responsible for making the TFA stormtrooper? Was it Anovos?
Thanks

Looking great. You might want to try some of the other strapping methods such as the snaps or brackets as most of the people using the anovos supplied velcro system are having fitment issues or it is failing after a few troops. I like to do things once.
I just ordered the bracket system because I completely agree with you.

Thats funny you caught that. I did right before the order. And I am going for for ANH stunt TK anovos not sand

So for an update I just made my trooper bay order to button up everything that I you guys are telling me. What exactly do you mean by the shoulder straps? I will look at some pics and see what I can find out.
But hopefully by the end of next week I can have some centurion lvl pics ready !!!!!!

Hey guys quick question.
When putting up pics for a thread is the max for the whole thread 512kb ? And if so what do I need to do once I meet that limit? How do I continue to add more pics or do I have to start a whole new thread?
Thank you so much

Hey Guys
So after posting my thread twice in the wrong place I finally found the correct place. And hopefully I can be able to get all my pictures onto here so you guys can really get a good look at how things are going.
So my ultimate goal is to get centurion lvl but for right now lets stick to the basics.
Real quick I am 6ft tall and 230 lbs.
I have everything cut out and Velcro set up. Here are a few of my issues
1. My shoulder strap is cracking
2. My right calve is tight and not holding
3. My biggest issue I can see are my sides are not touching i have a good size gap on both sides. The only way I see in fixing this is to lose weight.
Now a few things that still need to be done.
1. paint the dots and rivets
2. order latex hand covers
Please let me know if you guys see anything. I would like to get my TK application in this week.

Hey guys.
This is my official WIP thread for my Anovos TK armor kit.
I started on this back at the first of March and with some help have gotten it pretty far. I was asked by my GML to start a build thread here to make sure that my Anovos kit was correct and get as much help as possible (which i need as this is my first kit ever)
So here are the links to see the armor. I do know that I need to paint the buttons still. But one thing that is bugging the crap out of me is the calf pieces don't want to stay together when I move. They fit perfect but when I move my leg and in essence flex my calve it is snapping. I will definitely be looking for threads on this for help.
Anyways thank you in advance for any feedback and help (please do not be shy i want this to be perfect and constructive criticism is needed)

Welcome and good luck with your build. I'm not sure that it is in the right forum though. Might want to start it under Costuming and Builds > ANH (Stunt and Hero) > ANH Build Threads. Looks like you put it under Hard Armor.
Yea I saw that I will see if I can move it over

Hey i am having the same exact issue with mine. I cannot climb stairs and everytime i bend my velcro on the back is coming off. Did this trim help? Did you end up doing it?
I am about 90% complete and want to button up this stuff.

Hey guys!!!!
Name is Danny (34) From Northern Utah...
I joined the Alpine Garrison back in December and am crazy excited to be here and hopefully apart of the 501st officially.
Right now I am working on a Anovos TK build. I am about 90% complete I think. I am going to be starting my own topic in the right area to show the progress so far with it.
I also need to look at the other feeds to figure out little issues/details here and there.
Way excited to be here and if I can help in anyway I can please let me know.
