From all the reference photos that I've looked at, the calf piece overlaps the stormtrooper boots, however, when I put on my caboots and clamp the calve pieces together the opening of the boots are too large and I can't seem to get the calve piece around it. Will I have to shim the calve pieces together?

Anyone have experience using ABS black cement? It's the only kind of ABS cement I can find around here..
-
Anyone on these forums in Star Garrison? I was just curious because everyone I've seen here seems to be elsewhere.
-
Why'd you chicken out? Just wondering. I opted for the AP myself. Just waiting for it to arrive...
That cash money. I'm a full time student, part-time worker. I've had to budget for this armor so I'm treading thin water. I'll be happy with whatever I have, even if it is not completely screen accurate. I just want it to fit
-
Wow.
I'll bet this is a first.
If I thought I could squeeze into a TE2, I'd be all over this. Goes to show you, different strokes for different folks (as my grandma used to say).
I would have been all over this had I not purchased my FX kit last night...bad luck

I chickened out of AP...just too much money. I ended up getting FX lite aand that should be arriving this friday. My garrison is having an upgrade day on saturday and the guy hosting it said we can get started on mine as well. I do hope I can trim the hell out of this kit, i'm so tiny

Alright I've already picked up my Dick's Sporting Goods brand under suit, but I have questions about the Neck Seal and Boots. Are neck seals something that has to be purchased from a specialist, and if so, please PM me with info.
I also have no idea which boots to get. I lost a link that a lot of you agreed upon as the best trooping boots so if I could get that, it would be amazing. One more thing....are the boot sizes you wear the same as your tennis shoes?

Okay. 6 months in the making. Still have some tweaking, but its basically done.
MRCE Modded Helmet
FX headless
My own canvas belt
Caboots
Tandy buttons

Need to make the holster still. I'll have some more pics later, just wanted to get this posted. Will probably end up painting the armour to match the bucket colour (Fusion white)
thanks....
DD.
looks great!!! what size are you??
-
I have a fairly small head and the MR CE fits me fine. I can put it on without turning my head sideways and the only padding I have is on the left ear, so that when I have my mic set on the earpiece and padding pretty much keep my helmet on snug.
The stock lenses that it comes with are really bad, it's like looking through/out of a mountain dew bottle.
But you can see out if it very well. (I actually drove around the block with it on to show off to some neighbors! I'm a rascal I know )
TK-1422 offers FANTASTIC lenses for the MR CE. Smoke and Emerald Green colors.
ahhh, how do you replace the lenses?
-
I actually just got mine not even a week ago and i LOVE it, and yes you can see it....only problem is with the lenses that come standard others can see you lookin at them. It 100% needs at least something to be put inside in terms of padding because what comes on it would only work if you have an abnormally huge head. But for about $40 you can pretty well have padding and lenses sent right to you from some guys on the boards. I think its great for the price it is, but if you want something more accurate you'll have to dish out the cash and probably do some work assembling it as well (MR comes fully made and ready). Anyway thats just my opinion/experiance, best of luck dude

luckily i have a big head
thanks for the input!

just had a question about this one, does anyone have any experience with it? And if so, can you see well out of it?
had to cancel my order on the AP set, just couldn't afford it so I'm getting the FX lite with that helm. 5'9 140, hope the local build day can really get it trimmed down!
-
i'm 5'9, 140...would it fit?
-
which guide would y'all recommend for a complete beginner?
-
I'll probably look into that, so i talked to my garrison commander and no one in the garrison has any experience AP armor. This should be fun!
-
does anyone know if the green "sandtrooper" lenses that come with the kit are any good? Can you see well out of them?
-
guess I'm going to order my AP kit soon, ohhhhh lord
-
for your size, I wouldn't get an FX kit
well, i don't know if im able to ask this in this particular post or section but, where can i buy AP kits? I have found none. If someone could just pm me with some info that would be great
-
why you wanna buy fx?
optic?
price?
or any other reasons?
a number of reasons.
Availability and ease. FX has been the only kit I have been able to find and on top of that I'm not really looking for the most accurate suit out there. I've also read that the other kits are much more difficult to assemble and making the FX would be hard enough. Price isn't too huge of an issue, but I'm not looking to spend over $$$ on a kit alone
I don't even know which kit would work the best for my size, I'm roughly 5'9 and I weigh 140

Hi all, this is my first post on here after days of trying to activate my account and snooping around the forums for some excellent information. I contacted my local garrison about armor and they pointed me in the direction of the FX kit, specifically a bundle.
"The FULL WHITE FX Armor Kit, comes with ALL Body Armor parts, ALL Helmet parts are included with this FULL kit (decals, aerators, lenses, hardhat liner and clips, black edge and brow trim), Velcro, Strapping, ABS Cement, ABS Polish and a black leather holster for a Hasbro/Kenner Blaster. This kit is $$$ plus paypal and shipping. If you are in the lower 48 Continental United States, the total price is $$$. If you are not within the Continental US, current International shipping rates can be determined based on your mailing address."
they also sell the same thing without the helmet, and velcro, strapping and all that stuff for $$$.
Is the Full kit a good deal? Or should I purchase a kit and the supplies elsewhere?
Problem with calve pieces/caboots

its not that my calves are too big, it just seems that at the bottom, when the calve pieces are clamped together they don't fit around the caboots
