    Hello everyone,<br><br>

    I have put this off long enough. My name is Erik and I am actually just wrapping up my very first build. It's taken me longer than expected but I've honestly enjoyed the journey. I've introduced myself over the past few months on other Facebook pages but haven't made any introductions in person. <br><br>

    I was truly pleased to see so many reach out to assist, but I must admit this became a bit of a solo project for me. I wanted it to be that way. I'm sure I could have done a better and faster job with help but I enjoyed the sense of accomplishment and the sort of meditation that comes with building and getting out of your own head. <br><br>

    I am planning on submitting my photos and application this weekend for 501st approval. Basic at first, but I plan to go further. I like the idea that the build is living and not truly over. <br><br>

    I'll admit, I'm a bit nervous about meeting new folks. Especially in such a divided political and social climate as we have now. I've had some people reach out. Genuinely helpful people. There's a part of me that doesn't want to even troop until this election season is over. Does anyone else feel this way? Can those of you that are involved offer any suggestions or advice? I just want to rally around a love of Star Wars and do some real good for the community. <br><br>
