Renderings aren't showing up any longer. Hope that means something newer is coming soon and not something else.

I'm in pending final price as well.
Looks amazing and, as someone with 20+ years of CAD experience - for someone who's not been doing it too long, you're pretty damned good at it

Thank you Sergiu, I'm glad you think it's cool. I had to get a bit creative with some of the modifications I'm planning so I hope it turns out as good as some of the other builds I've seen. Very inspiring stuff on here, I will try my best to reach the bar that has been raised so many times.
Well there was a fair amount of meticulous cutting and grinding. The original mag well actually had to be removed from that piece of the grip section too. Fairly precise work. The most precision required was filing the edges of the original Sterling receiver tube or the "plate" as you refer to it. You need a nice straight tight seam between the edges of the original Sterling grip section and Airsoft receiver tube.
There is some detailed welding involved in the mounts on the front and rear of my modified Sterling grip section. This also requires some precision.
Well, that counts me out i think
Too bad they couldn't have made a smaller battery so the grip would match

I missed that plate on the first photo - must have been the angle.
How much cutting/filing was there? Is it just press fit until you finalize it? If i don't have to pull out a torch you're tempting me

That's looking really good.
I had thought about replacing my grip, too, but when I saw the size of the hole in the airsoft, i figured it was beyond me. I'm fairly honest with myself. I figure they only thing i'm going to accomplish trying to weld anything is burning down my house So, unless someone hear me feels like teaching me - i'm not going to try welding
So if i follow that right, you cut and fit a plate to the opening in the airsoft then welded the grip to it and just added the rest of the pieces on it?

If you read thru the comments on their Facebook page, they say that that this Premier kit will be made in the USA and they imply that the Standard may not be. And also not arriving until 2017. My hangup from ordering is the shoes. I'm a 47 and I don't want a pair of boots that I can't wear. But to wait until who knows when in 2017...decisions, decisions. Especially when I'm still waiting on my TK!

Thanks for pointing that out - i don't do facebook so i hadn't read that. However, my previous point applies as they've yet to completely describe the standard kit....

So, decisions, decsions....cancel the helmet and order the premium kit OR keep the helmet and wait out the standard kit....
-
Last I looked, it said this was the premier line which included, well, everything. It also said a 'standard' version would be out in august without helmet and boots. It didn't say if the armor was the same thing or not. Left it too vague. Especially considering that when they put the premier helmet up for sale it said that they'd be selling the armor both with and without a helmet down the road. Just that, it ought to be the same armor, otherwise they should have specified that before taking helmet orders.
Conveniently released, too, the week after they had a 10% weekend

I went to Romania last October - the airfare in Premium Economy was 2700 (Standard coach was 1800). Hard to believe they want just as much for a package.

I'm sure the issue's been resolved by now, but those looking at cutting the mag - that was simple. Hacksaw and a mitre box and it took give or take, 5 minutes. Something on mine i noticed on the cap plate was i couldn't get the thing off period - then a took a pair of plier and tweaked the ends inward a bit and it came right off. I didn't have to to even follow the full tutorial for modding a real mag that is on this site either. I'm guessing the material on the airsoft is much thinner than the original. There was on need to bend the sides out and trim it back - it fits tightly on the cut down mag.
Curious if anyone found a way to get a grip on it. I've got a real grip, but there's just no way short of massively cutting their trigger assembly or replacing the entire thing it seems.

He may have been hammered with work. Apparently a prop house went out of business in the last couple weeks.
