  1. I'm glad someone posted this. I just started using my mom's Brother sewing machine that she left me after passing last year. It's been interesting to learn. For thicker leather and other fabrics, I've been using an 1893 New Home sewing machine. It has big f'ing needles for industrial work. Lol you have to pump a floor plate to work it.

  2. I just pre-ordered Titan Fall 2 (Vanguard edition that comes with the helmet)...I'm stoked as hell for this. I played the beta for a couple days, and couldn't be more impressed with it.

  3. I've been playing around with this STL file, and found this site http://www.crobics.com/ which lets you load the STL file from post #1. It has a "selector" and "saw" tool. I was able to select the parts I'm not interested in printing and use the saw tool to remove them. You can then save (download) an updated STL file with the changes you made. Looks like it could be handy for other people to use. I don't have a 3D printer to test the resulting file.

You can download cura (a free slicer) and see how well your cuts worked

  4. Took my DLT out to its first troop today, went to put the butt stock around my arm, and managed to snap the screw right off...

I should have printed it stronger. Ah well. Going to sand the paint down and just permanently attach the buttstock to the receiver and call it a day.

Yikes, that's no good. If you printed it vertical, do a layer change in the gcode and increase the infill and wall thickness by at least 50% and 1 or 2 walls. Sorry that happened to you.

  5. I was talking with Máté, and he mentioned someone asked him to design a trigger system for electronics. Since he's never done it, I sent him this idea which is one I've used in retrofitting other models. Rather than on a slide system, is on a hinge hitting an endstop to actuate it. It's what I'm going to do to mine when I'm ready to print it out.

  6. Just realized the model doesn't have T-Tracks... Any suggestions on where to buy them or how to make them?

I think I saw something in the sales thread...some one sells them. I also might have another avenue. I'll get back to ya.

  7. I feel all inadequate now with my diddle little printrbot play. 4x4x5. Lots of cut for me!

Yeah, you're going to have a ton of gluing and sanding. My experience with having to severely cutting down a weapon, is that putting it together can be tricky. The first one I did was the Fusion Conduit Rifle from Destiny, in ABS. Many of the joints didn't line up well because of the warping and shrinkage. It took a ton of bondo and primer to get it looking right. After that I started printing my weapons in PLA, but with extra walls for strength. If it cost more in filament because of that, so be it...less work for me in the end. Good luck
