This is true. I'm from Albany, to be more specific. Actually lived in Mechanicville once upon a time too.

 

Maybe you can clarify: I can't sign up for the garrison until I've been accepted into the 501st, correct? The forum sign-up form is asking for my 501st ID which, since I'm still working on getting my first TK together, I don't have yet...

Hello from upstate New York! Joined a while back when I finally decided that I was going to take the leap and try to build a high-quality TK, but got distracted researching and never introduced myself. I have to say, of all the costuming groups I've dabbled in over the years, the support, advice, and camaraderie of the 501st and the FISD specifically just blow me away. You guys are truly amazing. Really hoping I get the chance to be a constructive member of the community!

 

As for my costuming goals right now: I'm in the process of getting together a FOTK (Anovos kit pre-ordered for... I dunno, sometime in the next 2 years) which I'll be seeking basic approval on, and then once there's a level 2 or 3 CRL possibly those as well. Beyond that I definitely want an OT TK someday and (even though I know they're not this detachment) a Shore Trooper. But at first, anyway, I'll be focusing on the FOTK as I've already got a standard Anovos helmet, undersuit, and boots and gloves from IB in hand.

 

Anyway looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning as much as I can from this great group!
