Greetings,

 

time for an introduction on my part. I have created the account a few days ago after the local garrison suggested it. And boy was it a good suggestion. Been reading almost non-stop since then. Well that and playing Battlefront

 

I guess a little bit about myself is in order. I am from the Hanseatic City of Hamburg in northern Germany and, to be honest, entirely new when it comes to costuming. But, what I lack in experience I hopefully make up in enthusiasm. For the past 25 years, ever since I saw A New Hope as an 8 year old lad I wanted my very own HWT Costume. So, this year I finally decided to read up on how to make/get one. That was until I saw the new TFA Designs. Now I am torn between those and the classics. Leaning towards the new Design for my fist attempt though. And since it will be quite a while before those become available it'll give me a lot of time to get more into the nit and gritty of costume building and accuracy of said costumes. Hopefully providing me with enough of an understanding to at least get a decent first try out the door

 

My Background so far is more model based. As in Tabletop, building Quadcopters and RC-Drift cars. So, at least some fine motor skills are present. It's something.

 

Lacking the space for proper machinery or the skills to sculpt one myself I hope I won't get too many frowns when go the route of getting a kit to assemble.

And judging by the people who post here, I am confident it will be a fun experience. And who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to join the FISD/501st. A guy can dream right?
