  1. Yea same here, I'm trying to wear the lid as much as I can around the house before I go do anything outside. Get used to it and everything(also my first helmet). Still not super stoked, mines really distorted near the middle. I find myself looking at everything sideways.

Interested if anyone has managed to polish them up and gotten results worth the time.

  2. Got mine on Monday. No issues apart from ONE of the little hexagons is a little funny. I'm not worried about it. This is my first helmet so I don't know what the standards are, but these lenses definitely aren't was I was hoping for. Very blurry, and  they warp your vision in a couple small spots.

I was personally not a fan of the hardhat suspension. So I ripped that out immediately and velcro'd in some foam pads from a military helmet/an old lightly used mx helmet I had. Hopefully going to get to stuffing electronics in it this weekend.

  3. Hey there folks!

Been lurking for a couple weeks now, figured I'd pop my head in and introduce myself.

My names Aaron. I'm from Vancouver BC Canada. I'm a contractor, run a horse stable, and am a bit of a jack-of-all-trades.

Unlike most people here, I'm not strictly setting out to put together a full set of 501st compliant armor right off the bat(just got engaged, gotta set aside funds for the wedding!) although I'm sure it will happen down the road.

My main projects at this point are A) turning a first order Anovos bucket(once they ship) into a functioning smart helmet. External audio amplified in the bucket, mini display screens in the peripherals that can display gps, front and/or rear camera, low light assisted vision(poor mans night vision), bio data... and if there's still room, which is questionable, voice changer and fans like what a lot of you guys are using. Everything will be synced through a raspberry pi, and run wifi/gps through an iphone. We'll see what happens when I have all the parts put together, but it so far it sounds like it will work.

I know what some of you will say, and NO I will not be out trooping in it or in big public busy areas. I just like the idea of a wearable piece of tech. And I haven't seen anything like this before.

And B ) my impulse buy turned fanboy project. With the help of an engineer buddy of mine, who has a cnc machine/3d printer/all sorts of stuff in his house... turn a Tippmann cronus paintball gun into an approximation of an ep7 e-11 blaster. Loose plan includes relocating the air line into a side mounted magazine, runing a cartridge instead of a tank. And I'd like to create some sort of whistle device inside the barrel that sounds close to a blaster sound. Pretty much a given this won't be screen accurate, but it should be fun and will hopefully look somewhat similar.

I'm not online too often, 3 jobs doesn't leave much time leftover. But if anyone has any tips or questions or input I'd love to hear it! I'll post more info in an appropriate thread when I start putting stuff together if anyone is interested.

    Cheers!
