The max temperature is only 305, others I've seen used go over 400. I haven't seen using a regular iron, I'll have to give it a try.

I've decided to trim down my thighs a tad and create my own return edges based on some tutorials I've found on the forum. I bought a Coverite trim sealing iron with some finer tips than most of the heat sealing irons I've seen used. 

It's proving tough to use, it won't heat up the ABS very fast, and it just doesn't get that hot.  I practiced on some scrap ABS and the only way I really got a return edge started was by hold the iron in place and letting it sit, no back to back motion.  I'm fearing using this on my actual armor and messing things up beyond the repair of sanding and polishing, so what heat sealing tools and/or methods have worked the best in order to make your own return edges?

[Ukswrath's ANOVOS TK build (stunt)]

Question for you fellas with sharper, more experienced eyes than myself.  I just received my replacement calf pieces from Anovos after cutting my originals out so that the wrongly labeled pieces fit together.  I put the old ones together anyway, as I was anxious to get into my armor.  Now that I have the new ones I want to make sure I'm putting the right pieces together.  The wrongly constructed ones are on the right, new on the left.  I have #28 and #25 together on the far left, #27 and #24 to the right of that.  Can anyone confirm these pairings look correct, or should I switch them?

Thanks Eric.  I'm actually 5' 8" and 135, but an athletic build makes me look a little bigger than that sounds.  I love a lot of the armor out there and seeing what people can do with it, but it's seeming AP is a good choice for this trooper.  There's still much research to be done, but I'll definitely keep an eye on AP armor builds.  Thank you and Steve for your suggestions, just what I was hoping for!

Hey Steve.  I bought a CAP ANH helmet from a 501st member's collection.  As for armor, I'm looking for a kit to build myself (since my helmet came assembled).  AP is one of the armors I've really considered, but I've read that it can get hard when aligning some of the armor pieces, and worry about my constructing abilities.  The tutorials and build threads have definitely helped me, but I'm glad to get any other tips and leads I can.

Hey everybody.  I've been researching the forum for quite a while now and am eager to join the 501st.  I already have my bucket but am in need of armor for a smaller sized trooper (5' 8" and thin).  I've researched some popular armors (TM, ATA, AP, ANOVOS, etc.) but would love to hear any other opinions and insights on how your armors fit.  I'm so excited to learn any more that I can and finally fulfill the dream of becoming a stormtrooper.
