Hey all - Im possibly looking to make the change from canvas to leather ammo pouches for more authenticity. Any recommendations on where to grab them? If possible id like to find a shoulder pouch that still keeps the smaller pouch attached to it. Thanks!!

You don't sound lame. Just eager! Just make sure it's up there when it counts. You looking your best, makes Us look our best.

This is very true, will do. Thanks Randy

You don't hold front up with snaps in the ab and back of belt?

I know it sounds lame, but I dont have snaps yet (dont hurt me ) Just using the velcro of the belt has held up for some troops but this the last thing I need to do.

That looks good. That's what I use also. I use Novus #1 to wipe mine down. Does your belt normally sit that low? It should be right up on the button panel.

Thanks for the kind words! And usually not as I have someone else help me with it. I tried velcroing it myself as best I could but it wasnt taught lol
Will have to pick up some Novus 1, thanks for the tip!
Now I really feel like Im on Jedha :) :)

First off I would like to say I am sorry about the crudity of the photo. I was in a rush to get my armor on to get a picture which is why I am sans pack. I used charcoal pastels that I shaved with a razor blade and then used a brush to apply the filings. Wipes off easily with a little 409 which is great. I will have to take some up close photos tomorrow for better detail as the phone didnt pick up alot of it. Feed back is appreciated, thank you!

Great job all!

Hey John, it's always been this way, we're just revisiting the topic. Feel free to elaborate on what you've done so we can talk about it.
Thanks for the quick reply Tony. I haven't made any modifications to my pack as I followed the guidelines as best I could as well as looking at reference of many approved packs that you all have made. Was just curious about some packs with mods now.
-
Just a question Is this from now on moving forward or does this apply retroactively to packs already made having to follow the guideline as well?

Gorgeous, i wonder, has anyone started making their blasters yet? I havent seen one anywhere.
Yes on the SpecOps forum

They are definitely in the movie. I saw them briefly the second viewing and then saw them fully the third viewing. They are seen in two spots - The Ring of Kafrene and on Jedha. I will post a picture of where they were. Its sad because there was over 46 shots that were shown in the trailers but not in the movie, this being one of them as can be seen here - https://vimeo.com/196155136

This was explained a little bit in the Star Wars Archaeology Panel back at Celebration this year as can be seen here

They came out amazing! I'd love to purchase some if you both are willing to produce more!
Thank you! I will ask him and find out

Thank you all for the kind words! Joseph I used your pictures and Charles (Templar) as reference for my build and you were also a HUGE inspiration, so thank you again! So all the pieces that are on top of the project boxes and large radio box are all acrylic that were cut from a laser cutter and then painted. I took a bunch of measurements and had someone I met (local prop builder) who owned a laser cutter to cut me the pieces. With a little trial and error we got pieces that looked pretty close and matched the sizes needed. He still has the files and would be glad to cut more if anyone is interested, and as long as the project boxes are the same size they will fit perfectly.
For my ammo pouches I used snaps (per Josephs recommendation and pictures) to secure it to the front strap. I also decided to dye these instead of spray paint them. Went to Walmart and got some RIT black dye and let them soak in super hot water for about 2 hours and then washed them and let them dry. I filled them with black foam tube from Home Depot which I wrapped in black electrical tape so they would keep the form of the pouches and also helps keep them very light.
All the info on here really helped me out a bunch. Any more questions just let me know!

Not getting it to accidentally rub off can be tough. You have choices on what to use. Many use make up. I use charcoal powder. We all use those cheap soft make up brushes. For me it wipes off nicely with Novus #1.

Awesome I was thinking charcoal powder but wasnt sure how it would hold up, will give it a shot. Thanks Randy!

Well done! Great job on the weathering! Just get a little dirty and come join us!

Thanks haha! Im still trying to figure out the best way to dirty up the armor without getting it to rub off too easily but at the same time not be a pain if I ever want to go clean again.

I finished this pack back in September but figured I would upload some pictures. I only had time to work on it a few hours a week and finally got it done after over a month of working on it.
Priming the parts
After some painting
Almost complete

Posted today on the Anovos Instagram - "It's almost here. Our fully-wearable fiberglass 1:1 scale #DeathTrooper helmet accessory is coming soon."

Its interesting to see they are still wearing the TD pack even with the backpack on.
-
I wouldn't mind to have that bucket.
Yeah, depending on how much they start at I might order one

Anovos posted some pictures of their Death Trooper armor on Facebook from New York Comic Con. The details are supposed to be unveiled soon.

Cause they had the pauldron on first, then put on the pack?
I didn't notice that until you pointed it out.
Yeah lol, cant believe no one on set caught that
-
One thing I dont get is why some of the troopers have the strap OVER their pauldron...makes no sense

Is anyone going out at midnight tomorrow night? Im gonna get to Toys R Us around 8pm (Orlando area) to see if I can snag some Rogue One stuff and check out the Black Series helmets before I buy one. Anyone going I would say to plan on getting there early. Last year I got there around 10 and it was already madhouse.

WOW this gave me chills! Amazing acting, dialogue, and cinematography. It felt like I could be one of those guys waiting on that transport. Great job all around!
