  1. Hey guys!

I glued the shoulder straps onto the chest plate as per ukswrath's tutorial. I also adjusted the back plate shoulder part with a hot water bath to make them fit better. Now I'm not sure what to do with the alignment because it seems that the backplate is wider that the shoulder cover strips so it's all misaligned. What is the best solution for this? I guess I could re-glue the cover strips so they open up in the back more, but then they would be skewed in the front on the chest plate. Or I could bend the back to conform to the front plate? I don't think that the white elastic will be strong enough to align all this.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you! :)

  2. EDIT: my bad, looks like you guys added all the functions of something like the icomm right into this amp! Am I right?

    I have to ask...

What's modified in this amp that's bundled with your kit? Looks identical to this "New Online N74" amplifier (with the same branding):

And the wireless mic also looks the same as one of those Chinese brands:

  3. Ok guys here is the backs..

I haven't trimmed them to size or put the strip on because I want to wait until I get whitch leg they go on...

I asked my local gml which way he would prefer them, but he said he doesn't know?

And how they are now, they both seem to fit comfortably

    They're correct! :)

  4. Despite what the Anovos-supplied instructions and numbering scheme says, it looks like you have the halves improperly matched. It's easier to tell by looking at the shins from the back view.

Once you fix that problem, the "curvier" side should go on the inside of your shin to match the more pronounced curve of your inner calf muscle.

I disagree. To me, it looks like he's got them correct! The outside halves have a smooth curve all the way to the bottom, while the inner halves have a much more pronounced dip in the curve which matches the upper part of the calf muscle.

edit: you can also tell this follows the anatomy correctly because the inner shells are longer at the bottom.

  5. I've built about 200+ of these, 1 being bad. Recheck all your soldier points

I too messed something up :(

It works, but only one ear. It works quite well and clear which is great! But the other ear doesn't work. If I talk into the good mic, it's amazing, but when I talk into the other mic, it's VERY faint, super distorted and what makes it even weirder is that the sound coming out of the same earbud as the other working one?!?!

I re-soldered it and it's still the same. I reversed polarity and that's definitely not it. I fear I may have burned the microphone out perhaps? I did struggle to solder the wire onto it and it got quite hot.

    Any ideas?

Oh and one other thing! Does anyone get heavy distortion/sound cut out when you tap on the device or mic? Even walking around holding this thing, with every step it does that. It seems quite sensitive to movement and I'm wondering if this is normal.

    Thank you!

  6. Off Topic... I added a usb cord to the velleman super ear hearing amp and got lots of humming, white noise - when plugged into the Anker 10000 & Aukey 5000. When plugged into the Anker 20000 and/or standard 12v outlet, the humming goes away.

Darn it, that sucks. I wonder what this has to do with?

I just got my kit and will be assembling it. I think I have the 3000 Anker so I'm curious if it'll hum as well?

  7. Exactly... 1a will ramp the fans up and down but never get them to 100%

THIS! I have a small powerbank that I tested with two 5V fans. All it did was spin up and down continuously. I checked the amps and it only does 1A :(

I'll be getting a bigger powerbank like the ones you guys suggest here!

Here's another idea I have! I just ordered the Super Ear Amplifier kit for better hearing in the bucket (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006HJSLE/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=) which needs 3xAA batteries = 4.5V.

I'm curious if a 5V battery pack would have enough juice to power at least two fans  and this kit as well? Could anyone experienced with electronics tell me if I'd need to add a resistor to limit the voltage to the amplifier to 4.5V? Or would the 5V supplied to it be okay not to damage the circuit?

    Thank you!
