Thank you mate

This may be a daft question, so bear with me...
I'm on my second armour kit now, and have gone for chemical gloves with the fixed latex hand guards. Previously I had velcro to open and close forearms, but for a more accurate version I'm going to fully close them on my new kit. Here's the thing: how do you get your gloves on, with the hand guards in place with non-opening forearms?
I've had a practise run where I put them on after the forearms were on, but it's a right bugger to stuff the wrist of the gloves under the armour. It's also to tight to slide your gloved hand through the forearms.
What's the consensus here? I feel I'm missing something stupid....
Cheers

Hello and welcome mate.
Wiltshire here (Stonehenge outpost). There are some decent armourers in the UK, so you won't have to look far for anything! Give me a shout if I can help.

Hello I was wondering If Authenticprops armor is a good place to invest? If not what are some good businesses to obtain armor. I'm new and have been reading on here for a couple of days and still have a lot of questions. I'm not sure what types of armor are great for my build I'm 5'10 205 kinda athletic build. Thanks guys!
There's a good thread which describes the pros and cons of each armour - take a look through the forums and you will find everything you could possibly need.
Your build is probably considered pretty 'average' so you should fit most of the armours out there. But it's all how the armour is built which will influence how well it fits you.
Check out the armour threads, and the FAQs for more information.

My advice is build it yourself. I'm about to start my third build, and there's nothing quite like stepping out in armour which you put together yourself. There's loads of info on the forums, plus a load of friendly troopers with a wealth of experience in this, meaning you won't be going it alone.
I know at first it's a lot of money, so hacking into all your plastic bits is a bit daunting (I felt the same way!), but just have a go at it. You'll get to know your suit a lot better, too.

Hello from the other end of the country mate. There are a few guys producing good armours in the UK which will eliminate those import fees. I've just ordered my upgraded armour so I can PM you some info if you'd like a look?

Cheers guys. Looks like I've found a source closer to home for a new suit. It's a fan sculpt but it comes highly recommended.
I'll keep you posted.

For a bit of extra info, 31, with a very understanding wife, who tolerates this kind of thing even when she is 4 months pregnant. I costums with a local outfit called CharitySciFi who raise money in my area, and although I love doing that, the allure of joing the 501st is strong. Even more so since my mate became a 501st approved TD a while back.
Anyway, I'm currently in a slightly modded FX suit, with the eFX helmet. I know there's debate about those things, but I like it - totally understand it has issues being clearable though.
Also I'm 6'2", so quite intersted in all the 'Taller trooper' posts. And since I'm looking to upgrade very soon, I've already pinged a few emails to AM and RT-Mod as the reviews from other guys are pretty good. Bad news is, RT isn't taking orders at the moment, but I'm awaiting word from AM. But since I didn't have much trouble modding a bog-standard FX suit, I'm still tempted to go with RS props, since they are based here, and I will escape all those shipping fees.
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell. A big, white, plastic, noisy nutshell.
Cheers,
Stu.

Fitting gloves under forearms
in Hard Armor (General Discussion)

Thanks guys - I spent a while the other day trying different methods and found that just holding the wrist of the glove inside the forearm before sliding my hand into it (with a lot of wriggling and swearing) works the best. I did the cover strip method with both sides, so can't open them.
I'm winning now though....
