  1. I am giving AP armor a +1.

I had a very pleasant experience working with mark who sells them. He will work with your budget to help you get on his list. and he is very quick to respond which was important to me.

The armor its self is extremely durable. I was nervous handling it at first but once you get past the first day of working with it you know how much it can take. The detail on other armors is def sharper but i am one for the long term trooping.

I was very happy with my purchase.

  2. Hey Fellow troopers.

I am down to the last couple of details on my helmet. i could really use some help on finding some great quality lenses. I bought AP armor and it came with a light green film but i really want something more to block out flash and prevent transparency. I contacted TK- 1422 about buying from him but he has not replied. i believe he no longer supplies. Anyways if anyone could help out and point me in the right direction of some quality lenses.

Also I need to make a decision about helmet padding. Would you all post pics of your inner dome to give me a feel of how it could/should look?

  3. I used testors paint. I didnt want to remove the paint so much as i wanted to kind of shape up what i already painted. I know my skill level and i feel id be left eoth the same outcome again if i repainted.

So for detailing paint thinner on a toothpick does the trick?

  4. ook so i have done a pretty spot on job for my TK armor now all i have left is the helmet painting.

i really did a poor job on the black vocoder on the chin and i was wondering if anybody had any paint removing tips and also any painting tips in general. i have yet to paint the frown and the ears so any advice moving forward would be wondeful. :smiley-sw013:

  5. Hello all my fellow troopers. it has been a busy week for me. I have finally trimmed my entire kit and assembled all of my limbs. now i just need to strap all of it together. i have a lot of good reference photos but i am still quite unsure of how wxactly the shoulder straps are connected? are they glued or snapped? pictures would be quite helpful.

  6. alright. i am locked in. i finally paid off the rest of my AP armor. it should be shipping next week now i know this is where the real fun begins.

I was wondering if anyone had any "WOW" experiences with AP armor assembling tutorials. is there any one that is preferred or perhaps better than others. I want to work with the best possible help so i can meet quality standards.

    P.S.

If there are any new Troopers looking into buying armor i highly reccommend AP so far. Mark has been so helpful working with me, awnsering all my questions and making me feel comfortable with these big decisions.

He really is there to help not to sell. I liked that.

  7. I spent all morning looking through all the recruit forums and i believe i have found a kit that should suit me well. im going with the AP kit for my first time. Seems to be the simplest for beginners like myself.

I have contacted them and cannot wait to start on my armor. Until then I cant wait to get a little more friendly with some of you guys and get started on some of the other parts of the uniform such as the E-11. thinking of just modding the hasbro blaster.

i will keep posted. thank you again for making me feel welcomed

  8. Hello everybody. My name is Dustin, im 21 from Florida and its been one of my dreams to be in the 501st since I was just a padawan.

I have never been financially stable enough to consider actually doing this, However recently I got a new job that is making saving possible. Now that becoming a trooper is a possibility, I wanted to reach out and get a feel of what path I should take considering that I have never worked on anything this complex.

I am wanting to have the glory of making the armor myself but i am worried that i may mess it up due to inexperience and lack of tools. I know it is more expensive to have someone else assemble it but i am wondering if buying the tools to make the armor would be less expensive then having someone else make it.

I also am unsure what the best kit for me is and honestly where to start but i am not afraid to take the time to make sure i am going to be happy with the armor.

Any starting advice or pointers would be amazing and much appreciated.

p.s. I am going to megacon in tampa next weekend and am looking forward to reaching out to some of the 501st. if anyone from here would be going i would absolutely love to get into contact if you dont mind helping me on this journey.!!!

Thank you all in advance I am so excited to finally start my path towards Vaders Fist.
