  1. Hi Matthew and welcome to your new home! :salute:

Thanks! Glad to be here, finally!

10 months, WOW..  I was antsy having to wait for 2!!  That should give you plenty of time to do your research, build your blaster, get all the needed supplies for your armor and meet some great folks!  All the best in your TK journey!!

Honestly, I was expecting more of a wait than 10 months.

    Welcome to the FISD!!

Have you been to the Bloodfin Garrison site yet?  http://www.bloodfingarrison.com/

Heading there now! I hadn't looked in to local garrisons yet! Thanks for the link.

Welcome to the site.  Do you live anywhere close to Pawnee, IN?  :)

Honestly, I've never heard of Pawnee. I live outside a small town called Paragon. It's about 45 minutes southwest of Indy.

Greetings Matthew, and welcome to the FISD!!!

Which armor kit are you waiting for?

Sometime before your kit arrives and you begin building, have a look at some build threads, to get an idea of the supplies you'll need. You're most likely pretty familiar with them already, having built a few Mandalorians. Then, have a look at the Advanced Tactics section as well. That's where you can learn about the EIB and Centurion accuracy award programs. As a perfectionist type, I have no doubt that you'll want to take your armor all the way to Centurion status. Neither is very difficult to achieve, requiring a bit of extra work and attention to detail during your build. That's much easier than upgrading later. ;).

ATA is the kit I'm waitlisted for. I am definitely going for Centurion accuracy out of the gate.

  2. Greetings, everyone!

My name is Mathuu (Matthew) and I hail from the lovely corn and soybean laden lands of South Central Indiana. I'm a 30 year old manchild, lifelong geek, and aspiring (never done before) cosplayer.

I've always wanted to build costumes, especially Star Wars related, but it wasn't until recently when I went to Indy's Horror Hound convention that I really had an itch I needed to scratch.

I'm definitely looking forward to forging new friendships, be involved in events for great causes, and having a blast while doing it.

I've been a member of the MMCC forum for about 6 months, and still have yet to apply for OM status. I have a somewhat OCD perfectionist complex when it comes to things I do and refuse to try to pass things by until I'm 100% satisfied with it myself. I'm on my third iteration of the Mando kit, all because I come across something I don't like!

I've looked into the 501st before, years ago, but now I finally have someone in my life supporting all my geeky loves and hobbies 100%. So, now, I'm finally here to enlist!

I've already been in contact with and put on the waitlist for a highly recommended armor maker. 10 months, it's a long wait, but one that will be filled with learning and having a heck of a fun time!

For the duration of my waiting period, I will be venturing into sculpting and modelling, and seeing if I can build a set myself. Hopefully, with everyone's help and advice along the way, I can come up with something approvable!
