Thanks Kevin, looks fine to me. Don't see much difference in this kit and those worn by newbies (I have an old FX). There should be no problem getting this approved.
-
Thats where I just got mine from and it looks good. Haven't started building it yet.
Kevin
I just want to ensure that it is suitable for larger troopers and is 501 approvable. Has your Garrison CS seen it? I just want to make sure this kit doesn't disqualify me in any way.

is Trooper Supplies still a good source of armor?

You could just get some white shoe polish and buff it on.
I tried polish, it did not work, the stains are too set in.
-
if you suspect its from the inside, perhaps try dying it from the inside?
If its on the outside, you may want to consider sanding off the gloss surface, it will weaken the boots and probably render it unprotected from the elements, but it should better match your armor. There is a how-to thread on this.
Thank you for the input.

I have Caboots for my TK, and I have seen several of us that have purple and pink spots on them. I contacted the company and they said that blemishes on Stormtrooper boots are normal. Does anyone here know how to clean them? I have tried various household cleaners, but these stains seem to be on the inside of the boot showing outwards. I am sure others have this as well, what can we do?

heh no probs man - so many experienced folk around here - I wasnt sure if u were joking or being serious. My comments werent meant to be insulting - hope u foudn the post interesting and TROOP on!
Oh Yeah, you guys are the bomb...So much knowledge here, that is why I asked the question here first. I believe most of you could easily work for Lucasfilms with your knowledge.
I had no idea a typical TK was so complex. I did not know they were different in every movie too. I look forward to learning more from you.

its abt rounding the edge of a cut bit of armour
No, I was not joking. I am a brand new TK, have not even been to a troop yet.

What about cutting the FX-plates a little and then giving them the return edge as shown in another thread for the chestplate using a hobbyiron?
Looks like it´s doable.
WTF???
Hobby Iron? Do you cut armor using a iron?

Here is a set of fx(bottom ) vs more accurate ones (top)
yep, that is what I have. Thank you very much...

to the best of my knowledge - yes
good luck with ur build!
Thank you very much.

I recently purchased new hand plates from EBay. These plates are considerably smaller than the FX hand plates. I E-mailed the seller about them and they responded that the FX hand armor is way too big, and the more accurate hand plate size is smaller. Please help, I know there are experts here. Is this true?

Ha My mom is a lunchlady at Riverview Highschool. Before I moved to Brandon I lived in Shadow Run in Riverview
My neighborhood is actually right across the street from that school.

Saluting metal is always great!!
And Transformers in the mix as well.. Sweet! Love Transformers
That was the bomb in 1984...Too cool. It's always good to meet another fan.

Hey bud Welcome to FISD. Where at in Tampa are ya. I lived there for 13 years just left 3 years ago. I had a place in Brandon
Riverview Actually. I have been here for two years.

Welcome! I've only been in the Legion for about a month now as well. I'm dying to get out and troop
Really? Your new too....I am lucky I suppose with the clone wars just coming out. I did not troop the event but I was a handler. It was good experience to see how things work during a troop. I can't wait to do more.

That is your rank soldier!!! Be proud of it and accept it. You will earn your stripes by putting in a little time and effort.
Here, that would be on your user profile. Click on your name in this thread, and you will see yourself and your recent posts. You can also "track" posts by using the options tab in the upper right of the thread.
it's my rank? I see now, I thought it meant that my information would not show because I am a private user. Thanks for the helpful information.
It's actually nice to be a private. I am a Master Sergeant in the Air Force, so being a private here is relaxing, no pressure. I can just sit back and see how my fellow TKs do their thing. The Floirda Garrison had many nice things to say about this unit. I am glad to be here.

Welcome to the FISD Rick.
To load an avatar go to My Controls and look under Personal Profile. You should see Edit Avatar Settings.
Thank you, worked like a charm. In my Garrison thread, I could see everything I posted to in my control panel. I don't really see that here. Any advice on how to keep track of threads posted and such?

My TK is 8417
84 --- 1984, a great year for Heavy Metal. Dokken, Ratt, and Twisted Sister all had top hits on the radio. Many of the top bands of that era can trace their roots back to this year (the bands I liked anyway).
Also, Transformers was introduced in the United States.
17--- My old baseball number.

Welcome to the forum!
Thank you very much. can you tell me how to get rid of the "Private user" and put my picture on?

Hello everyone,
I am TK 8417, assigned to me this week. I live in Tampa Bay Florida and a member of the mighty Florida Garrison. I have been associated with the 501st for only one month so far, and I have already been on a troop in Orlando Florida to celebrate the opening of the Clone Wars.
I look forward to talking with everyone.

DUCT TAPE FTW! shoulda' know, it fixes everything else! I taped my camera's battery door back on/together
I can't put my O2 can on by myself.
Greetings my fellow Florida Garrison...
I am confused. You cut your armor...You told me that was a bad idea...Did you cut it and then regret it later? How does cutting the butt plate help with mobility?
