Thanks guys! I found a very informative forum about larger guys finding armor. From the looks of it, there is no armor that will fit me at this time. I guess if I want to be a Stormy I'll have to go on a major diet. I have been looking into possibly going for a TIE Pilot costume being that there isn't that much armor, just the chest and back plate. I think I'll work on building a TIE Pilot suit till I can loose enough weight to get Stormtrooper suit. That being said, does anyone here know of a good TIE Pilot armor and helmet builder?Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Hi my name is Doug. I have already attempted to try and find out what armor would fit me best, and was very politely told that I am too big to be a trooper. It was like a little kid who just dropped his ice cream in the dirt, my dreams were crushed to find out that I would not be able to join the 501st as a Stormy. I'm about 5-8 with a 54" chest size and a bit of a gut. I still want to get a Hero style helmet to have some fun with. Could anyone tell me who makes the best and most accurate Hero style helmet. Also if there is by some chance that I could get on as a Stormtrooper, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise I will have to find another character to costume as (suggestions would be appreciated). I follow the 501st on facebook and really hope to join the Star Garrison some day. I am wanting to become a member of the 501st and I want to buy a quality Stormtrooper costume. I'm 5'7" 300 lbs and my chest is 54". I was considering RS Prop Masters, but they are bit out my price range. I was thinking about going with RT-Mod since thier armour is oversized. Any help would be very much appreiciated.

Going back and looking at that forum I found for "larger troopers," I'm thinking that the AM kit may work. I'm just a little concerned about my waist though. I measure 59 1/2 at the navel. According to the thread AM max size for the waist is 42," but I think that is the only part that will give me any trouble. I guess I should email the builder of AM. lol Thanks again guys the warm welcome and someday I will join the 501st!
