AP is an awesome kit; my husband and I both wear it (5' 8" 125lb here, and he's 5' 8" 155lb). just finished an ESB-style helmet from another AP helmet kit!  At that height/weight you should fit a build easily! :)

Are you building to Centurion level?  If you're not... you should!  It's super easy to do (a few extra rivets, some trim, and an extra snap) and you will have a top tier accuracy costume ;)  More info is in the Advanced Infantry section, I highly recommend it!

    Hi Alay,

Even more excited now :D  I'll definitely go for Centurion level...   thank you for the advice / encouragement!

Its really a nice feeling to have met so many people that are so willing to help.  Many thanks and I look forward to future communications.

    All my best

Hi Karl and welcome to FISD!  Congrats on your armor purchase. Which armor did you go with?  Check out some build threads of the armor that you purchased. You will pick up some build tips that are relevant to you. Please make sure you check out the advanced tactics section and you will see how awesome your armor can look with just a little extra work. Ask us any questions you may have. Have fun and good luck!

    Oops...

In my excitement to reply to all these nice posts...   I forgot to answer your question starsaber25...   my bad.

I bought from Authentic Props the ANH Stunt TK.  I'm very excited to get started on my build threat and to share with all.

Many thanks again for the tip on the advanced tactics section.

Howdy Karl - Vancouver is a great place to be a stormtrooper and your local garrison.  You'll be in good hands for sure!

    Hi Daetrin,

I do truly feel lucky to be a recruit of 'The Outter Rim Garrison' here in Vancouver...  I've already met a bunch of really great people.  I'm sure this Garrison is indicative of what all the Garrison's are like... and through future troops and conventions, I look forward to meeting more troopers from all over.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

  4. Hi Everyone,

I should've posted this before I got to specific 'quoted' post responses.

I just wanted to say again thank you all for such a warm welcome.  I'm truly excited to have started my journey to become part of this amazing 'family' of troopers!

All of the responses I've received have only served to solidify my already positive opinion of the type of people your organization is comprised of.

    Thank you all!

Yet again...  such a nice welcome :)  Thank you for that!

Super excited about the 'advanced tactics section' as I truly want to make the best possible armour and as authentic as I can as well!

Thank you so much for the great tip and all the support thus far!

Very awesome Karl! I love the paper helmets! :)

What armor set did you end up getting?

Can't wait to follow your build thread!  If we can be of any help there's tons of great folks here at FISD =)

    Hi Alay,

Oops...   forgot to mention that I saw you have a link to an AP ANH TK stunt build that I'll be visiting often!  Thanks so much for that!

    Cheers,

    Hi Alay!

So happy you enjoyed my paper mâché helmets!  And thank you too for the warm welcome!

I purchased from Mark Harrison at Authentic Props...   after much research and asking questions from my local garrison.  My BBB arrived the other day and its an understatement to say that I'm super excited!!

I stand about 5'9.5" and weigh about 165...  on the slighter side of things...   so after speaking with Mark, he confirmed that his armour would be a good fit for my body type as he stands 5'7" and it fits him well...   so will easily fit me too.

I can't get over how many kind folks there are in this community and I'm so happy to have started my journey.  Thank you for inspiring message and I'll be sure to be 'picking' the brains of all you wonderful people as my build gets underway!

Stay tuned for my upcoming build thread!!

    Hi magni!

Thank you for the warm welcome!  I'm excited to finally have started my journey to become a fully fledged TK on the outside...  as I've alway been one on the inside!

  9. Hi Everyone!

My name is Karl & I'm a dad of a 4 year girl and a 3 year old little boy (both avid fans).  I had joined this forum back in 2013, but found being a new Dad and all the other responsibilities that came with that...  that I had to put my dream of joining the 501st on hold.  Don't get me wrong though...   my kids are the best things that have ever happened to me...  (aside from Star Wars ;) )

As for me, I've been a Star Wars fan since I first saw 'A New Hope' in the theatre back in 1977 when I was 5.  I'm now 45.  Since those early days I've dreamed of owning my own authentic Stormtrooper armour...

In fact, the desire was so strong from that early age that I created my own Stormtrooper and Boba Fett helmets and armour from paper mâché.  The armour has long since disintegrated but my helmets live on!  They are my Avatar!!  I sure used them a lot as a kid and had a great time!!

I've always wanted to pursue membership in the 501st since first learning of the organization.  I'm now finally starting my journey on the road to realize my dream.

Other than the fact that I love the costuming aspect and having the chance to make new friends that share in the same interests, I've always been impressed and inspired by the charitable aspects of this community and the people it is comprised of.  Becoming a part of that would be a privilege.

I've joined my local Garrison as a recruit and just recently received my Big Brown Box!  Everyone I have met thus far has been more than willing to help and are very kind.

I'm about to start my build and will start a build thread here as well as on my local forum to share my excitement with all (and of course pick all your brains for the vast knowledge out there)!!

    Thanks all,
    Karl 'aka' Dudestein
