  1. Hey all. I've been trying to learn about the diffences between the stormtrooper armors. (ANH, ESB, ROTJ). And while I've been learning a lot I'm still having trouble and I thought this was a good forum to ask.

I found a great resource for helmet comparisons, not sure if its been linked before so I'll add it:

    http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-comparisons.htm

It makes learning the helmests KISS (Keep It Super Simple), yet doesn't skimp on the fine details. Is there a site or reference similar to tbis for full armor?

I apologize if there is and its posted elsewhere, its easy to overlook things in the vast amount of resource threads. (Which is a good thing ^_^)

Thank you all for any help

  2. Wow, I see a lot of you guys had the same train of thought I did. I've been partial to ANH because it was my first experience with stormtroopers. Its what made it iconic and memorable and made it easy to recognize the "bad guy". Another reason is chronologically, start at the first then progress as it evolves.

I look forward to others chiming in with their reasons.

  3. Hey all!

I'm new here and I've been trying to absorb all the information here. It's enough to warrent a degree! Lol I hope I'm putting this in the right place, it seemed the most acceptable.

I've learned there are differences between the armors (ANH, ESB, ROTJ) and while I only know ANH has left handed holsters the rest Is still to learn. But to my question:

How or why did you pick which movie to emulate? Was it the style, the lore, favorite movie, pure aethethtics, or did it just happen that way? I figure by learninv why you all chose your given recreations it might help me choose a style so I can focus on that model specifically to start.

  4. Hey all,

My name is John and I live in Oklahoma. I found out about the 501st only a few days ago but it entails what I've been trying to get me and a few close friends to do for a while now: Helping kids while being a nerd. Lol. I've helped kids in the past with Toys for Tots, helping through BACA for a short stint, but haven't really found my place yet. Then while looking for a stormtrooper costume I came across the 501st, an email later from a nice and informative guy named Phillip and here I am.

A little about me, I'm a parent, I used to race motocross and had a AMA/NMA license, I paint Warmachine and Warhammer 40k miniatures and am a avid gamer.

My goal is to have a acceptable stormtrooper and to help kids and make them smile. My only problem is I have no experience with costuming and im hoping to be able to buy a costume thats ready to go and then add to it and customize it to learn.

So now I'm going to have a look around and see if I can find a reputable dealer for an acceptable full costume.
