["New" in Ohio]

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I have been to the Ohio Garrison site and I posted there last week in hopes of finding an armor building party. Found some great people willing to help but they are on the far end of the state from me, so that will be a last resort unless I hear from someone closer. My goal is to be done and suited up by Ohio Comic Con. I feel more confident about tackling the build on my own after digging through the forums over the last couple of days and watching Dave's Garage on YouTube. Hope to get a building thread started this weekend with pics of my progress. Funny-- didn't even have a digital camera back when I got my kit!

Hi All,

 

My name is Craig and I live in NE Ohio. I have an FX kit which I must sheepishly admit has been sitting, mostly unfinished, for maybe a dozen years. Now that my kids are all teenagers and want little to do with me :-) I have the free time to dig the box out and get to work. My first disappointment was that so many great tutorial/mod sites which I had bookmarked way back when no longer existed. My next was to find that the FX kit has fallen out of favor but that, as you all know, is really a blessing in so many ways with all of the wonderful kits currently being offered. I will save many of you the trouble of telling me to forego the FX armor in favor of one of those. I stubbornly intend to finish this and seek 501st approval, and then hopefully move on to something newer/more screen accurate. I am 6'3" and 190; I dunno, maybe an RT-MOD? (see, I am already window shopping!) FISD has already provided me with a wealth of info; thank you to those responsible-- all of you really. I will post pics of my progress once I find where to properly do so.
