Hey Troops!
So i'm sitting here reading this after doing my morning workout and thought i'd share my story.
In 2010 I was 5'11" and weighing in at about 310. I had really let myself go after marriage, kids, being a stay at home dad, and a diet of garbage. Job wise (i'm an actor) it actually helped me being that big, everyone needs a guy that can sing Shipoopi. in March, my father passed away at the age of 55. He was overweight as well and wore it for a long time. It finally caught up to him along with some other illnesses, but it hit me hard.
I started losing weight then, walking here and there, being able to finish 2 miles in under 30 minutes on the treadmill was a good day for me. In about 6 months I lost 40lbs. Keeping me at the 260-270 range. I was thrilled, but had more room to go. I started touring with a show in Late 2010 and began working out regularly, and started running. Which has been my lifesaver. It makes me focus, and i enjoy it so much. Since January of 2011, i've run 3 half marathons and a full marathon. This January i'm running a race down in Disney World called the "Dopey Challenge". It's a 4 day event, each day consisting of a race in this order: 5k, 10k, 1/2 Marathon, Full Marathon. Hence the Dopey Part. 48.6 miles, in 4 days. I've been holding at the 230-240 range, so i decided that in conjunction to the 48.6 miles that I am running i'm going to lose an additional 48.6lbs by the time race day comes. So 192 by January 9th. That's the goal.
-Running 4 times a week combined with P90X. That's the current plan of attack.
-Also, new vegetarian (about 6 weeks in). It's a double edged sword. I eat lots of carbs which i need to cut out in order to maximize potential.
I desperately want to look better in my armor. I want my neck seal to not make me look like i have a double chin, I want to feel better. I feel great now, but I know that theres room to grow. Thanks for listening troops!

If you can either bring the chest & back plate down or bring the ab & kidney up just a bit, it would look a lot better. The chest barely goes over the ab on your left side and there is a slight gap on your right side. Something could just be a bit crooked. You might want to wait till you get your correct undersuit before you adjust anything else. That could make a big difference there. The legs look alright to me.
Thanks man, much appreciated.
I think i need to do a combo of bringing the ab & Kidney up and the chest & back down, kind of meeting in the middle. The man i purchased it from was a few inches shorter than I am, so trying to make it work is proving to be a little tricky. Since all the upper body stuff is my correct under suit, I will go ahead and start those adjustments. Another brother suggested making the shoulder elastic a bit longer as well, so hopefully that will be helpful as well. Thanks!

OK guys, i can appreciate some help if you all can.
Check out the attached photos, i left the arms off because they're currently drying since i needed to expand the biceps. And i'm waiting for my boots and undersuit to arrive, so please pay no attention to my running pants, which apparently when you photograph them it looks like you're wearing glitter.
Any thoughts of how it's sitting on me would be GREATLY appreciated. I know i need to take the stomach in a bit and i need to figure out a good strapping system for the rear on the thigh. Other than that, any thoughts/advice/concerns would be greatly appreciated.
PHOTO ONE-I'm looking at the joints between the knees, and the thigh and pelvis, I think they look ok, thoughts? Also, does the Chest plate need to come down? If so, i need to restrap the shoulders to achieve that, yes?
PHOTO TWO & THREE
Does the Back Plate need to be lowered as well? I think it's in the proper postition, however I defer to my brothers.
Another view from the rear. Thoughs and suggestions would be appreciated.
Finally, A little action shot. I hope you enjoy my clogs. They were the only darn shoes i had that could slip on. LOL.
Thanks guys. -
Thanks Gents! Increasing the bicep by 10mm so it's a decent amount. Preserved the outer finishing strips perfectly. Made myself some decent shims with a fairly thick Tow Zone sign i had lying around the house...don't ask. They're sitting and drying with a primer coat on them before I
So far so good. pried off without much issue simply using a flat dull object.
Thanks for the advice and support brothers!

Right on guys. Thanks so much for the info. Now all i need to do is get my hands on some shims from someone and i'll be all set!

Hey troops-
I purchased a set from Darth Voorhees for my TD, and i need some room in the thighs, and the biceps. Has anyone out there ever done this? Need to pop the already glued seam, and give me a little more space.
If anyone out there has any experience in this, please let me know, i'd love any advice you could offer
Thanks!

Quick question Panda (or anyone else checking this thread out)
My head is rather large, 7 3/4. Is it acceptable to slowly trim out the bottom lip so that i don't rub my head as I put it on? I mean a little is ok but i'm forcing it on right now, and i'd rather trim then stretch it out when i put it on.
Any advice would be great!

Hey there friends-
So I finally received my armor. I was lucky and picked up Darth Voorhees TD build and am currently modifying it to fit me. Actually it's going pretty smooth! Having a couple of snags, needing to trim and cut and possibly add some stuff here and there, but other than needing a pair of size 13 boots, (or a big size 12) i'm looking to get out there soon!
Pictures to follow, thanks for all your past posts which have been lifesavers in terms of what to buy where and when.
Thanks all!

So, on the ATA waiting list, doing my research, starting to purchase little pieces and getting ready to build some weapons. Just wanted to say hello, i'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the 501st as a TD eventually. Already talking to my brothers in the MEPD and the Midwest Garrison, so i thought i'd stop by and say hello here as well. Living in Brookfield (right outside Chicago), checking in to see if we have any fellow Chicagoans around here.
Talk to you soon, can't wait to troop with you guys!
