Welcome Greg, to FISD!!
Well, when you chose to take center stage, you did it in front of the big guns, didn't you! You might be the most notorious TK out there.
Nothing get's me down for long!!! Bye the next morning the safety cover was in place and the Maintenance Manager came over to the 501st booth to see I was OK... I was happier it happened to me and not some young lady in heels, could have broke an ankle!!!
And really do you understand the meaning of “notorious??
As the worst of a group of people and unfavourable person among their piers…
I hope I have not given this impression to anyone…
I am the most trust worthy, helpful and honorable TK you will meet!!!

Hello Troopers
Looking forward to my first Trooper Build. With the help of TK-64283 we should have little difficulty. FISD is an excellent resource site for finding stuff and info on building.
One question...how do you guys sit down in trooper gear? James Antoine (TK-64283) fell over and cracked his butt plate. I would imagine the same would happen if you sat on it as well.
Greg York (No TK number...pre build 1)
Hay there Greg, good to see you in the ranks of FISD... Will be nice to have another TK to play with in Winnipeg... Any time you need a hand give me a call will get together and getter done... I got most of the in city suppliers marked down to save on shipping costs... And I'm sure I can spare out some tools if you need "why buy when you can borrow"!!!
Give me a call my number is on my FB Page!!!
Oh yeah, funny sit down!!! lol That was not as graceful as it sounds Troopers... Stepped back to let someone pass by on stage at C4 Comic Con and stepped onto "a 5 inch high 2 foot wide" Wall Tracking System fell back on my Butt Plate onto a Knee Wall... I would not have been so embarrassed with 400 people in the audience however Yaya Han - Jason David Frank - Tommy Costillo were the Judges!!! I got honourable mention for balance beam and gymnastics…

Well I'm 49 and have jest finished my first costume "ANH Hero". And if your wondering when I seen the Movie Star Wars ANH with some friends, we paid $1.75 to get in the theatre, Lg. pop corn was .65c, and a drink was .50c... was two weeks allowance. As I remember we hide in the emergency fire exit so we could see the movie three times… God that was fun!!! May the force be with you… lol

I'm doing the trimming myself so I have some cut off abs from the costume. I was going too use white Cordova "a thin Canvice†& white strapping for strength" too fill the space. with snaps to connect the ab too the kidney plate on the side...
-
I'm building an Authentic Props TK from Montreal, and I'm 235 pounds. Its working out well, I am building too the max measurements of the costume so I'm looking to lose weight long term "have to hit the gym over the winter" and stick too a program to stay in the suit. I am vary happy with AP. It's a good build... I jest need to get some final touches done to get my qualifications for 501st...
All I need is a couple photos of the space, Ab and Kidney plate under the arms. There is a gap their that I can't figure out what too fill it with "Black strapping or white abs"???

Can you show the final work on the ab/ kidney shims under the arms you used too complete the area... two photos would be good one on the inside for sure... Thanks james

TORSO UPDATE
After I caught wind of the pending changes to Centurion Assembly requirements and with my AP on Saturday 27/10 I basically put the arm/leg assembly on hold until the vote on FISD closed, and I had more information on the changes.
With help from those who came (thanks again guy's) I got the torso fully assembled, including the shoulder bridges & covers.
With my decision to double up on snaps I chose to make the shoulder bridge snap plates using 4 snaps. This meant that each snap plate was 80mm long and glued into the chest/back using the same method as the others (loop velcro on snap plates).
I made the shoulder bridges using 50mm white elastic and attached hook velcro to match the snap plates.
I had taped the arms and legs together to get an idea on fitment and while i realized that my right forearm & bicep are bigger than my left, I didn't take into account that my right pec & trap are also bigger.
This combined with the chest plate shoulder mounts being slightly offset meant that when we copied the left shoulder cover position to the right the chest/back sat crooked.
I'm amazed at how strong a bond the Zap-a-Gap provides, Scope & I took 35-40mins to get the right cover off in one piece to be able to reposition it.
While measuring the shoulder covers we also measured the elastic for the shoulder bridges.
The following pictures show the torso progress after the AP (I'm holding the chest down in the 1st picture as I still haven't fitted Chest/Ab Straps to pull the chest down and keep an overlap).
After everyone left I worked on the chest/ab straps and got them installed so that the torso was complete and would sit by itself.
The blue tape here shows where I wanted the overlap to sit (center of this tape).
This shows the elastic chest/ab straps installed. I've cut them a little long so that I can fine tune them during fitting. I've also included a tri-glide buckle in the strap so that these can also be adjusted on a troop if necessary.
These next pictures show the torso fitted over the undersuit. As you can see it now sits without having to hold the chest down.
I've got some temporary Ab/Kidney shims installed that are made from thick craft cardboard and attach using the snap plates which will be used when I've made the final shims.
This has also been an ongoing hot topic here in regards to Centurion accurate shims so I'll work on this later.
The suit looks very deep front to back as the crotch strap is not yet installed. Once on this will pull everything together nicely (I hope).
I put the bucket on to get an idea of the feel of assembled armor. I can now understand the limited mobility/vision that everyone talks about.
Can you show the final work on the ab/ kidney shims under the arms you used too complete the area... two photos would be good one on the inside for sure... Thanks james

Abdomen Plate
Also is the Abdomen plate get cut, under the belt from the crotch??? I have seen both done so I'm stuck on what too do!!!
-
I'm trying too get my build up too Level 3 standard this is the last bit too work on!!!

I have looked at several posts on ANH Hero builds and can’t find good close-up photos for the space between Abdomen plate and kidney plate on the side under the arms…
Can someone post a few photos for ANH Hero, of the strapping/ shims between the Abdomen plate and the kidney plate on the right and left side? Can you also give a description of the materiel used?
I was going too use white Cordova or white strapping between the two but not sure what one too use…
Or do I use black strapping???
-
Yes treat it like a hole from a door nob in dry wall... Put a patch on the back side and fill the money side with ABS paste in two layer's... One layer too fill the hole and a fine finish coat... Let dry and harden a few days, best bet!!!
-
New question, how does this wire size look.
I found a cool alt. to the wire, rolled on a 1/2 inch dowel I think it's too large...
Should I reroll to a smaller???

Thanks Glen, I'm going too cut the old rail will look a lot better. You have a great looking set of blaster's. I wish I could do more on mine but I'm running out of time. Should be getting my TK costume in a few days/ next week.
I'm going to post the photos of my Blaster build when its done.

Oh Wow, I like the hinged idea on cod piece by Darth Voorhees.
That’s cool, see the Bio break go without a removal of other Armor pieces!!!
Also like the extra surface on the ends of the codpiece giving more material to work with
on the side’s by the hip to secure the two pieces together!!!

Is this tutorial site up to date for any new changes for the ANH Hero Armor build?
TK300 - Blast'em The definitive Stormtrooper tutorial...
http://www.tonybarnett.plus.com/suit.html
I'm looking at the strapping for the armor parts for Step 6 the AB section and Step 5 the front/ back shoulder straps...
Question is Heavy duty White Velcro is being used!!! Y/N
Anovos TK armor preorder
in Hard Armor (General Discussion)

This is really sad too hear that a GML is already rejecting this Ano-vos kit without it being in a recruit's troopers hands yet... If this is the kind of responses people are going to get for a belt rivet when submitting for approval will jest show how ______ people in the legion can be... We jest past the 7000 member mark of active members and will the GML's plan on rejecting 5000 recruit’s because of such a small detail??? Please tell me this isn’t so!!!
As for the kit, I already see the drain in the pocket book this must be for prop masters out there seeing maybe 5000 trooper kits being produced!!! Jest think of it this way, how many years would you have taken too produce this many kits from the home base prop masters out there…I have an AP kit great respect to my prop master I love my kit... In the long run this is a great boost to The 501st Legion, I don’t know why some people can’t see this!!!
I wonder jest how much poop I’m going to get for this one!!! Lol This is jest my opinion…
