Okay, here's what the wired setup looks like. I'm trying to figure out the best ways to make all these wires detachable, so that they are truly "plug and play", so I'm still playing around with different connector types and whatnot.
Maybe you could try the kind of solderless wires they use with active guitar's pickups :

I was thinking about that yesterday ! If you can take 2 cheap digital camera, disasembled them, try to modify the lens and hide them in the HOVI , and use the LCD display right under your actual lens. Could be done.
-
No.
You just de-kit.
Hundreds manage this way, why can't you?
And you should learn some manners. ;-)
And bladder control.
This is not the point at all. The guy is asking tricks to keep important belonging on him. That's it. That doesnt mean he will hang out in the middle of a trooping event, talking on the phone while eating a hot-dog. While the phone might not be essential, it's not a luxury to have ID and cash. Just like I told, I went to some Bar for Halloween, and having ID on me spare me the PITA to remove my helmet every time I want to get in or order.

Told ya Phil!
You should get a life. Because Star Wars is a Movie. You don't see any troopers go to bathroom in Star Wars. Does it means you have to hold it the whole event ? Yeah, right.
-
Well, I don't know if by ''trooping'' he also meant ''when I wear the armor''. It was really usefull to have my phone and wallet at the town halloween party last week. But again, this wasn't trooping.

Well, I figured this out :
1 - Cash and Card : I bought a bill/card holder that I fix inside my helmet with velcro. That do just fine !
-----------
2 - Phone : I got an I phone and I don't know if you ever noticed but the little battery pack pouch that hang on the belt are about the same size ! I put my phone inside and close the case with the velcro I putted in. Works pretty good

AP armor is made in canada. pretty good abs stuff there@!

I normally wear size 12 sneakers but they do have some pading in it. My Converse are size 11 and my TK Boots I just ordered are size 10, and by the measurement and everything, they should fit just fine.

If you buy a TM kit, Paul will send you glove, guard and canvas belt.
-
I'm 6.2'' / 190lbs so we are pretty close. I ordred a TM Hero, gave my measurements to Paul, so I won't mess my first armor, and everything fits like a glove. Really, there was NOTHING to readjust.

Jahn Danter has a good set apparently that you can see really well in, but he is MIA. From tAlking to Rob (RT-Mod) is should he green bubble lenses sorted soon, so will add them as a part of my helmet, and if they are bad viewing, I will contact TM again about getting a set made, and maybe John D will come back one of these days.
From the pictures I saw of John D's lenses, they seems worst than the TM.

I hope it will works ! I'm really interested about one !
-
Yeah thanks guys. I will email him directly. Just thought I might no have been alone !

I love the hero look! Actually you can see them elsewhere besides Luke/Han. The trooper saying "The ships all yours", plus one of the troopers escorting Leia on the Tantive IV. The bubble lenses usually do suck, but Mike Appling made a set for me that I could see out just fine. Not sure what he did differently, but it can be done.
Still my dream - full on TM Hero!
TM Bubble lens aren't that bad !
First pic is what I see right in front of me :
Second pic is when I move my eyes full left / right :

Mmm actually I tried a new batterie and the same problem used to happen. How long a single 9V may last with the Rom/FX ? Does it worth doing that 2 x 9V ''mod'' ?
Thanks

I love Hero... I'd love to get one of Paul's Hero helmets in the future, totally worth the money
I love mine !

Hi, I bought a used Rom/FX from this board couple weeks ago. I plug it into my brand new Aker 10W (also from the board) and power the Rom with a 9V battery. Everything have been trouble since... well two days ago.
I power the Aker, volume at 40% and Rom/Fx at 20%. There's a little bit of ''humm'' comming out of the speaker but it's very subtle. I can live with that. The main problem is, when I speak in the Mic, after a couple of times, the Rom/FX freeze. It keeps saying, and I quote... ''RO-RO-RO-RO-RO-ROM-ROM-RO-RO'' without NEVER completly saying the classic ''ROM/FX'' startup sound.
I turn it off, wait 5 seconds, turn it back on, and same sh** happening without even talking into the Mic ... ''ROM-ROM-ROM-ROM-F-F-F-F-F'' lol you got the point.
Did someone ever experienced this kind of problem ? It is really frustrating since I'm kind of nervous it will eventually happens when I will Troop or wear my armor at a party.
Waiting for your feedback !
Thanks !

john Danter makes a set of bubble lenses where you can actually see thru without getting dizzy
TM Paul's one aren't that bad seriously. Like he told me, just move your head instead of moving your eyes.
-
i think that is the biggest reason for not going hero.
first rebelscum
second you cant see diddly shi..
Well, if we forget about the rebelscum thing hahaha, and we focus on the closeup / visual quality, I rather have an Hero helmet for my mannequin and I will probably build a Stunt for trooping.
-
Chris, I just received my TM and I'm more than happy with the quality ! Paul managed to build everything in 4-5 weeks and shipping was really fast (5 days U.K. to Canada).
Bottom line, awesome kit and really professional builder.

An easier target!
Well, with those bubble lens, I wouldn't be able to shoot an elephant standing right in front of me. I feel hangover when I wear my bucket
