I used plastic weld on all of my armor and that was 3 years ago. I have never once had it fail in that time and I troop very reguarly. Also in that time I have done some very stupid things in my armor and it has always held up for me. Hope that helps.

I saw where some of you were talking about having problems with your ab plate popping out from under your chest plate. What I would suggest is putting some snapps on your ab plate and another set up on your chest plate. Then just running two elastic straps between the two. This will keep your chest plate in place and still allow you to move. I have done this mod and it works GREAT for keeping my chest plate tyed down so to speak, but still allows me movement. This will help troopers two ways, one as stated above from keeping your ab plate from popping out from under your chest plate or two for skinny troopers keeping your chest plate from wondering around on you. I actually had the second problem (6'2" @ 185lbs), but I got the tip form a bigger trooper who did it to keep his ab plate in place. Hope this helps a bit.

Hello Jeff, and welcome to the FISD. I, too, have an FX that I have modded (and am still modding) the heck out of.
Yup yup, I have done a few minor monds to mine as well. Flat lenses in, left sided holster and blue tube stripes on the bucket. Did some ab buttons a few years ago in the right size and color. I think next is a canvis belt, and fixing the holster to the belt instead of having it as the loop over.
And thank you all for the warm welcome.
