Hi mate,
What a great gift from the wife!! I dont want to put that down in anyway so please dont take this post as anything derogatory against that as I think for your wife to have bought you a suit is just fantastic
Speak to Ian Maginn on UKG forums (PM him) he got cleared in a modded JR suit, however, being up for a challenge is one thing, wearing an accurate suit is another, so the advise you have gotten from the UKG boards is spot on as we just want you to be a happy trooper and the JR suit will leave alot to be desired, so if you can sell it on the bay and pick yourself up a "different" set its all good, and Im sure your lovely wife will also be over the moon to see you so happy.

Im 5' 6 and fit nicely into TM armour
Lots of knowledgeable people on here so I am sure you will be fine, stay away from evil bay and do your research and you will be trooping in no time

Being from the UK I have no idea what heat build up is as its been raining here for the last 6 months
-
I did the same: I got a piece of white styrofoam and wedged it in there so that the sniper plate was angled outward and then glued it in. I haven't had a problem since.
My fix is a soft foam pad fitted inside the thigh armour at the back as this pushes the thigh armour against the thigh at the front thereby allowing the sniper plate to sit clear, I mounted the sniper plate as normal so not the same way as yours just a different way of doing it. Dont want to be picky just highlighting that there are 2 different approaches here

I use a pad (foam wrapped in gaffer tape velcro'd on) on the inside rear of the thigh to push the front of the thigh flush with my actual thigh and this keep sit clear of the plate and avoids snags and the plate going under the thigh
-
Bet you've worn the lid and just looked in the mirror
-
I got marks a plenty and just leave them for that used look
-
And what about me Bill? I shouldn't even try to pop up on UKG too?
I think he meant you so what are you waiting for go here - - - - - ->>>>> http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/site/ and we will welcome you all over again
"I got a TM, makes me feel funny like when we used to climb rope in gym class"
-
What can also help on the left thigh is to put some padding at the back of the thigh to bring the front flush to your leg as this allows the sniper plate to stay in front of the thigh and not go under or collide with it.

Hi Kendall
I had 3 reasons for buying armour
1. I love Star Wars and wanted a set of armour after seeing some at an event in the UK in 2006.
2. I wanted to troop and play at Star Wars at events such as the one I first saw armour at in 2006
3. I wanted to do something charitable and this gave me an oppurtunity to do that whilst having fun
Events to attend can be as organised by your local Garrisons, or it may be a friend asks you to do their kids birthday, the choice is yours. Obviously Garrison events have the safety of spotters and numbers.
When not in the armour, get yourself a mannequin and display it as it is awesome
hope that helps

I had fogging at a troop today and someone gave me a wet wipe I wiped the lenses went back out and had no further problems. My lenses are sealed more or less, this fix was cheap and effective.

Looks great good luck
-
Looks nice buddy good luck
-
Why did you cut the cod from the ab? I know the butt and kidney is separate but not the cod/ab?
Apart from that, good going for 5 hours
-
Looks lovely, good luck Jenny. My only observation is your belt looks to be hanging a little low (first image after blaster photos), have you got it sanpped to the AB or just loose?
-
Thank you all, you are most kind
