Hey Acima - how did you achieve the darkened wood weathering on the stock of the DLT-19?

 

Just painted some dark brown on it, and before it could dry wiped some off with a paper towel. I just used normal acrylic paint from the craft store. Takes very short time to dry, so take it in small sections at a time. You can also do a darker brown or black coat over it to give it a even more worn feel.

A little update.. just beacuse I can^^

 

Yeah, it hasn't been easy to find work after the Death Star blew up :/ but with a little help from NAV I got a chance to test out my skills at the Norwegian bookstore ARK.

..though I might have misunderstood the use of the laser scanner...

 

So I got to hand out balloons instead!

 

But I still look badass!

And I got a new fan she also helped me a bit handing out balloons to the kids who got a bit scared. She was aborable <3

 

 

 

But really.. I work at a bookstore in a mall and from the 12th to the 15th october there was a "Shopping Festival" going on. My work decided to host a Kids Days theme. And as my boss knows I resently made a stormtrooper costume, she asked me to hand out balloons to the kids for a few hours one day. It was very warm, but fun Got alot of high-fives and hugs!

 

(also used my abs hand plates,with some quick elastic work.. forgot the inner gloves for my rubber ones at home :/ )

And it might look like your thigh ammo belt is a little bit shorter where the split rivets fasten it?

But seriously, you guys look awesome.

 

Not really, it just looks that way as the middle box is not sentered in the thigh (does that make sense?) and I would imagine it's easy to place it a bit different. Still, Mathias may have a cm or two more then me on each side.

And actually there are several clues on the picture that shows who is who. Obviously I'm the taller one, but Mathias' vocoder is more painted then mine. He is also alot thinner (curse you female shapes!). My handguards have the knuckle marks in them, Mathias' belt is darker then mine and my dropboxes are thicker. We also have different mic tips.. I'm sure there is more..

.. and as I am girly I had to put some swarovski crystals in there aswel.. I'm weak for shiny pretty things..

Sent in my pictures for approval last night and today I got a lovely email from NG's GML.. I'm in! (still have to wait a few days for my number though..)

 

Apperantly I make his job easy So thank you again for all the nice comments along the way! And special thanks to Mathias who have been there to answer all the questions I couldn't find answers too ^^

Still got some bits here and there I'll rework on the armor, so this thread will go on with updates and pictures.

Again, no worries. Now comes the tweaking time. Getting the fit or the straps and padding just right

Will proably remove all the padding from the top of the helmet in the end.
